Language competences:
We will focus on reception and interaction competences according to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages: Learning, teaching, assessment descriptors.
In the first place, reception is carried out by listening to announcements and instructions and reading for orientation:
Can understand straightforward announcements provided the delivery is slow and clear.
Can locate specific information in lists and isolate the information required.
In the second place, interaction competences will be based on understanding an interlocutor and goal-oriented co-operation:
Can generally understand clear, standard speech on familiar matters directed at him/her, provided he/she can ask for repetition or reformulation from time to time.
Can discuss what to do next, making and responding to suggestions, asking for and giving directions.
Contextualization:
Previous knowledge: they will already have worked on the geometric shapes in the past theoretical sessions, now they have to put it in practice within a real environment.
Target group: 5th grade (11 years old).
Target language level: A2

Compare and classify geometric shapes.
Identify geometric shapes in their surroundings.
Develop their ICTs competence.

Context: The students have been doing a CLIL unit that we created and its main focus is on learning the geometric shapes.
Sequence:
Pre-task:
To begin this didactic unit, we will prepare a box with different figures and we will ask them to relate their names with their shapes. Afterwards, we will do some activities like for example asking them to classify the figures so that they can start to identify their characteristics in more depth.
Once they are familiar with all of this, we will ask them to search for some of these figures in the classroom or around the school. They will have to do these activities in groups and they will have to take pictures of the objects that have been found to present them to the rest of the class.
Later on, they will print the pictures and, taking into account the characteristics that they had established before, they will make an online poster.
Task:
Finally, they will use all this knowledge to complete the final task (the one performed in class). This is a scavenger hunt where they will have to solve different tasks to obtain the hidden message (using AR tools).
Post-task:
They will do a reflection on the whole project and the students will do self-assessment.-> we could also recreate the “hidden” geometric shape of the final clue (for example, they have to create a circle)
