Sketch Idea
For this project, I tried to create a side-by-side profile of my hands from when I was younger and older with different colors and sizes to express how music has influenced my growth and adolescence.
For materials, I used construction paper and origami paper, some of which I found from my middle school and elementary school art supplies. I used an exacto knife to cut my different layers, and a glue pen as an adhesive(because it is all they had at Renys).
For this project, I wanted to create crisp lines and contrast with my work. To do this I used paper so the lines could be no less solid. I think I created a stronger piece that accurately portrays my theme and achieves my goal. One struggle I had with this is the excessive amount of sketches of the hands and cutouts that did not fit the size of the proportions of the piano keys. To fix this I had to create a coupe of pictures with poses to create a relative outline so my hands would match the child hands.
