In progress and original sketch

The idea of this project was to follow my sustained investigation "How do humans manipulate nature?" but more specifically answer the question How do Humans manipulate nature matter?

For material I used Clay, to create the building then they were fired in the kiln which were painted by watercolor. I used wood as the base of my city that I cut with a miter saw, moss,  which was already on the wood but I also added some as shapes to represent unnatural plantation and finally sticks from the yard to create the structure underneath the blocks to create a structure like figure to represent manipulation of material at it core.

I wanted to represent how humans use material they find in nature to create a livable city and materials that are manipulated such as brick or how clay is used to build homes. I did this by using such materials found in nature specifically wood and clay to create the base and city, and added things such as sand and moss to create lawn like figures. I think although it may seem like just a figure if you think about your own home most houses are build our of wood and everything inside once was material that were from nature that were thoroughly manipulated and processed by humans which is what I am trying to show through this piece.
