Sustained Investigation #2

Beach Before Feedback

In Progress

Beach Day

9" x 11"

Sand, Acrylic paint, pebbles, tree fluff, sea glass, and recycled fabric.

The idea of this sustain investigation was to explore the question of how the beach impacts mental health, this was to be represented through a sand and paint base to build layers of colors and texture to create the mood of a beach.

There were many materials used in this project, to represent the setting of the beach I used sand that I use to sand my driveway, I used small rocks as they are at beaches and I could use them as a a message because people use rocks at normal beaches to make messages in the sane, and acrylic paint to create color, this was mixed in with the sand and later sprayed with glue to stick together. I used sea glass, tree fur, sticks, and recycled fabrics to complete the beach look.

there were a couple struggles as I made this project at home sick with no hot glue, liquid glue,  or cardboard, or hard surface I could use in my art. This only proved to be a true issue when the notebook I used to hold the piece together started ripping and sagging, not to mention it didn't look very out together. After some feedback and getting a nice board stock, I glued my sanded beach to the board and cut off the excess paper. This was very plain and I only could truly fix it when I added trees and seaglass to represent the edges of a beach which helped put together the art and the message.
