The idea of this project was to use what we knew and learned about white space through scratchboard and sgraffito to create lino prints. First, we had to create our design then we had to carve out our linoleum block so we could print with ink. This took many tries and we learned about the process of printing.

For this project, we used linoleum blocks for our printmakers so they could carry the ink and we could safely carve. The prints were made with multiple colored inks on traditional paper to see the end results and design.

I think that this was one of the projects I struggled the most with.  First of all, I struggles to carve out my design to the point where the white space wouldn't collect ink. Once finally finished carving to the point I was happy the ink either would not transfer completely or it would get stuck in the linoleum cracks and ink would get all over my prints.   Due to my struggles, I didn't finish my prints so I went to callback and continuously experimented with ink consistency and thickness to create my final print that transferred clean.
