Wire Cube

18 Gauge Annealed Wire

Poland Spring Water

18 and 28 Gauge Annealed Wire

13" x 4" x 3"

We learned to use fish hooks by twisting the wire with the tools given to us. With the knowledge we were given the task to make a cube and then a object of our own choice(that we had the physical version of) and I choose my poland springs water bottle.

For this project I used 18 and 28 Gauge Annealed Wire that I could use to make strong fish hooks but also smaller wire(28 gauge) for anitials and to create the logo. We used needle nosed pliers to form the fish hooks and edges, and we used wire cutters to make clean cuts in the wire.

One of the biggest problem I had in the project was making my water bottle from swaying. At first all the connections were small but as I built up, even the slightest loose fish hook could cause the whole thing to lean. To resolve this I went through every single connectiong to find the weak one and either applied more pressure, twisted them, or recreated them completely. Although it may not seem perfectly straight my water bottle was imporved a lot after I fixed the connections. For detail at the end I decided to use 28 gauge wire to make "Poland" for affect and as an identifying detail.
