The main idea of these three art pieces is to create a self-portrait, object drawings, and drawing of a corner of a room in a limited time to capture my capabilities and to track my art progress later in the year. I tried to capture myself, the proportions of a room, and a random object on the wall.
This artwork was made with graphite pencils and I used a mirror to see myself for the self-portrait.
When creating my object drawing I choose an object that I found interesting and inspired me to draw, I focused on the shading and overall shape and proportions of the object to create the final piece. For the self-portrait, I tried to focus more on the eyes and hair, because I feel that is what people see when they see people. Although my time was short I tried to spend time on hair patterns and the shape of the eyes in contrast with the glasses. For the corner of the room drawing, I found a room where there were many objects to show spacing and help me create correct sizings for the doors and tiles. I focused mostly on the beams and ground objects that helped show the shape of the room and the contents.
