The main idea of this artwork was to capture the pure lines of a hand and the three angles of a shoe. By capturing the pure lines it was also important to not have sketch lines, smudges, details, and other lines except for the pure lines that formed the hand and shoes

The materials used were graphite pencils on drawing paper for each drawing. On the Hand Holding a Rubberband I also used red/pink pen.

For the Hand Holding a Rubberband after drawing and outlining the hand I added a red rubberband to put an emphasis on the elastic because I am always wearing hair ties and that is a big connection between me and my artwork. After completing the piece I used the light room to draw over my lines on a different paper so the work was not as hairy and was purer than the first drawing. For all of the shoes, I started with simple shapes but worked out so I could capture the lines and I had to try to go very light so I would not have to start from scratch. I mimicked the curves and holes from the shoe with pure lines and erased all of the sketch marks to create a clear and pure drawing.
