Revision
Acrylic paint, Sharpie pen/marker, Music Sheets, and Cut up Images
For my revision I used feedback from my peers to find my weakest piece of work(investigation #12), to reinvision to create a better and more in depth piece of art that follows my sustained investigation.
The materials that I added into this piece were music sheets, representing sun beams that would contrast with the photos. Secondly I printed out paper photos that have personal importance with music and created a collage in the back to create darks and more detail. Over the music sheets I used sharpie pen and markers to create little designs to not create huge spaces of open sheet becuase it felt like white space.
One of the things I added that I wasn't super sure about at the end was the kid with the arms up. I did this to represent a younger verson of myself enjoying the chaos of the scene and also representing the themes of growth and spirit I'm trying to portray. I think on one hand it's kind of confusing and doesn't make sense but on the other hand the cutout makes the kid contrast the rest of the darks without jumping out at the viewer to much which was my intentions when adding this figure. I also think it was important to incorperate the addition of solid colors due to the amoung of patterns and business going on in the background. Overall I am happy with how this came out and in my eyes it is a whole lot better than it was before, but I can also understand how it looks very busy and may not clearly portray my theme to the viewer(but it does a better job than before).
