How-To: Create Social Media Graphics

What you need:

• Photoshop

• Word document reader

This guide outlines the step-by-step process for creating social media graphics using Photoshop templates stored in Dropbox.

1. Accessing the Templates

1. Open Dropbox and navigate to: SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS > All templates > 2025 template

'2025 template' folder contains:

1. • Six folders for different background styles (e.g., Butterfly, Forest Leaves, Mandala Shape, Plain Text).

   • The "2025 affirmations" Word document.

2. Choosing an Affirmation and Tracking Progress

1. Open the "2025 affirmations" document to choose an affirmation. This document contains both short and long affirmations.

2. Once an affirmation is selected, put a strikethrough the text in the document and note the number of graphics created next to it. This helps keep track of completed affirmations. For example: Abundance flows freely towards me every day - 1

3. Opening the Template in Canva

1. Login to Canva.com

4. Editing the Text in Canva

• The backgrounds are already uploaded so VA only need to edit the texts

1. Select a background to use for a new social media graphic

2. Edit the text by pasting from the affirmation document

3. Add the highlighted specific words (for emphasis). The highlighted words will have a gold foil effect. For example, in "I am worthy of divine abundance," the words "divine abundance" may be highlighted. How to edit highlighted word in photoshop, proceed to step 5. 4. The remaining text should remain in the default font.

5. Go back to the "2025 template" folder.

6. Open the folder for the background style you want to use for the affirmation.

7. Open the Photoshop file inside to start editing.

6. Adjustments and Formatting

1. Moving Highlighted Text: When adjusting the highlighted text, make sure it stays aligned and visually level with the rest of the text.

2. Positioning Sandy’s Name: Place Sandy’s name below the last word of the affirmation, ensuring it is not too close or too far.

3. Centering the Text Block: Adjust the placement of the entire text block. The text should be centered within the graphic.

4. Choosing Text Colors: The color of the plain text should match the color of Sandy’s name and the website link. Approved colors are in the "REFERENCE ONLY" folder in the Layers panel. The available colors are Lolly Pink, Light Pink, Musk, Fuchsia, Dark Pink, and Hot Pink. Note that Light Pink, Musk, and Lolly Pink are mainly used for background colors, not text colors. 

7. Finalizing the Graphic

1. Click on the 'Share' button on the upper right corner of the Canva window, click on the 'Download' option, input the page number of the background you have just edited, select 'PNG' as the file type, then click on the purple 'Download' button.

2. Save the graphic to Dropbox: Navigate to SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS > 2025 for Later > DRAFT graphics and save the file there.

3. Naming the file:

   1. If the affirmation is short, save the file with the full affirmation as the filename, removing spaces.

Example: "I am worthy of divine abundance" → iamworthyofdivineabundance

3. 2. If the affirmation is long, shorten the filename by using key words.

Example: "Thank you Universe for guiding me as I embrace the flow of abundance in all forms enriching my life every day" → thankyouuniverse

4. Approval process: Sandy will review the draft graphic and decide if it’s ready to be uploaded to social media.

5. Final saving: Once Sandy approves the graphic, move it to SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS > 2025 for Later

6. Upload the approved graphics to Later.com for scheduling.

7. After uploading, move the files to SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS > 2025 for Later > Uploaded to Later.com
