In Pomerology #33 in 2006 Chris Pomery wrote
The Rattery family stems from Henry Pomery & Ann Evans who married in the parish, which is near Totnes, in 1837. Rattery is on the opposite side of the River Dart from Berry Pomeroy not far from Harberton.
There are parish records in Harberton and nearby Buckfastleigh back a further 250 years while the earliest in Rattery itself is 1641, so I expect that this tree will be documented back several more generations in the same immediate area.
We have two DNA results associated with this tree which are not consistent, so further testing is called for to resolve this issue.
The PFA members researching the Rattery tree are: Julie P Pomeroy, Derek W Pomeroy, John Mason, Joan Wright. ( AJP 2020)
