BUT what does DNA say??

In 1602 Richard Pomeroy of Ingsdon, son of Thomas & his wife Elizabeth Hengscott, 

married Anne or Agnes Coplestone daughter of Hugh Coplestone  of Bowden Manor (farm) in Yealmpton. 

In the next 12 years they had 5 sons  5 daughters  children  Richard died 1616. 

Anne/Agnes  remarried in Exeter in 1619. Her 2nd husband was  James Lowman of Whitestone.

Richard born about 1578 married in 1602 died age about 38 in 1616 , whilst his children were all still very young . His widow married a 2nd time in 1619 to James Lowman of Whitstone nr Exeter

Thomas * the heir  B 1603 died 1662; he married  Mary Drewe daughter to Sir Thomas of the Grange, Broadhembury , she died without living issue 
His 2nd wife Jane ( family name unrecorded ) gave him 3 sons and 4 daughters

sons were 

1. Thomas  who 1st married Mary Drewe & 2nd Jane family unknown  more below,

2. Richard Bb 7th Dec 1604. 

3. Henry Bb 3 oct 1606  

4. Captain Hugh Bb 24 Nov 1615 who married Frances Vaughan ;He  fought in the Civil war  having a company of 95 men in Colonel Lunsford's Regiment
   They had a daughter Welthron Bb 28 June 1648  who  married  William Gilham at Withycombe Raleigh near Exmouth on 29 Sept 1668
   There is a burial record for a Hugh Pomeroy in Chudleigh in Nov 1647 which was 5 months after Welthrons birth, although the record doesnt say  father deceased

daughters were 

1. Amy still a minor when their father died 

2. Elizabeth Bb 1608 d 1642; 

3. Ann Bb 11 Sept 1610; 

4. Agnes b 19 July 1612  d 1617;

5. Barbara was a minor in 1616 when their father died. 

 son Thomas married  Mary Drewe dau of Thomas Drewe of the Grange  she probably died in child bed  without living issue.

  his  2nd wife Jane  ( family name not recorded ) gave him 3 sons and 4 daughters 

Thomas died & was buried on 31 May 1662 in July 1662. After Thomas died she married Rev Francis Moore of Exeter.

     Maria  wife of  Henry Sheeres of Ashburton a yeoman family

    Agnes wife of George Irysh of Ashburton , a fishmonger , married 7 Dec 1655 Parish of Ilfenton    
Thomas with his brother Charles  sold Ingsdon Manor  in  1663 a few months after his father died.
