He married Bef. 1518 to Eleanor Dacres born Abt. 1490 in England daughter of  Henry Dacres.

married Margaret Ford Abt. 1544  daughter of John Ford  and Mary Pomeroy

Their daughter Honour Rolle married Thomas Pomeroy Esq of Sandridge in about 1585  he died 29 July 1615.

Thomas Fford gent of Ashburton  son of John Ford & Mary Pomeroy - see below
His wife was Elizabeth Coryton dau of Peter Coryton of West Newton in St Mellion Cornwall who had been there before  1698.
The Coryton family had  previously had an estate at West Newton Ferrers   in St Mellion. The manor of Newton Ferrers (Niuuetona, Niweton, Niwetone) is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086.  

Colquite Farm.  seen here, is in this area and the Coquite Estate is a huge hunting shooting and fishing concern.

John Ford (1586†ñ ca. 1639) the dramatidt was an English playwright and poet of the Jacobean and Caroline times.  Born in Ilsington in Devon he was baptised 17 April 1586 at Ilsington Church, Devon,   second son of Thomas Ford (1556ñ1610) of Bagtor in the parish of Ilsington, by his wife Elizabeth Popham (d.1629) of the Popham family of Huntworth in Somerset. There is a monument  to her in Ilsington Church. 

Thomas Ford's grandfather was John Ford (d.1538) of Ashburton  (the son and heir of William Ford of Chagford  who purchased the estate of Bagtor in the parish of Ilsington, which his male heirs successively made their seat

The Elizabethan mansion of the Fords survives today at Bagtor as the service wing of a later house appended in about 1700.
