They remained in the area

Panter's Bridge, the lovely little bridge on the road from Mount to St. Neot, was once called the Jesus' Bridge .There were once very large tin workings in the parish.

The Treveddoe mines and quarries are extensive, and were partly worked till 1945. They are dangerous to visit.

A hundred years ago, the population of the parish was twice its present figure.

Pomeroys remained in the area of Cardinham which lies between the 2 main highways into Cornwall from Devon the A38 to the south from Plymouth and to the north the A30 from Exeter which meet & combine at Bodmin - includes Blizland

Warleggan s a hamlet of 11 houses "the loneliest village on Bodmin Moor". Population in 1811 was 228 -  6 miles E. from Bodmin, and 8 miles N.W. from Liskeard, contains 50 houses and 296 inhabitants, including the hamlet of Bofindle

The main centre is the village of Mount, through which the mail-coaches used to rumble on what was once the main road from Bodmin to Liskeard.

The chief house in the parish was for centuries the magnificent Trengoffe Barton, burnt down not long ago, home of the Tubbe, Parker, Nance and Angove families. Other Bartons are Trevorder, Bofindle, Dewy, Holtroad, Tor and Carhurrow

Elizabeth Oliver was a widow when she married James Pomeroy in Warleggan on 1 May 1828 & it was witnessed by Simon Roskilly . He was her father

Duloe There has been a settlement at Duloe for at least 2500 years. Early inhabitants of this land seeking to explain the forces governing their lives built stone circles to study the sun and the moon and offered up sacrifices to the sun the source of nourishment.

Duloe has a stone circle, a link with the earliest settlement here. In a field some 300 yards from the church are eight white quartz stones in a small circle of 38 ft diameter. The present setting is the result of restoration in the last century when a burial urn of the late Bronze Age (2000-500 B.C) was found at the base of one of the stones.

The Duloe Torque, a gold bracelet from the late Bronze Age, was found in a nearby field and is now in the Truro County Museum. It has been suggested that the church yard was the site of an Iron Age Fort because of the circular shape and elevation and because Tredinnick, the neighbouring hamlet means "the town of the fort".
