AJP found in Exeter cathedral records

"May 6th 1628  CAVEAT NOT TO GRANT A LICENCE TO ELIZABETH POMERY A YOUNG GIRL OF PILLATON and

any man without making it known to JOHN BELLY of Maker who has contracted to marry Elizabeth in presence of faithful witnesses- as asserted  -

( sounds like a reluctant bride??)

Alma Morey LaFrance found

Elizabeth was daughter of Peter Pomeroy and Loveday Davyes:

Peter received the lease of Hardenfast, manor of Pillaton from Thomas MOHUN.

(Note: an Eliz. Mohun was married to John Trelawney, and mother of Jonathan Trelawney.)

Elizabeth Pomeroy, as co-heiress, of Peter, must have had enough property interest to keep BEALLY adamant about his marriage rights.

Her sister married a Billot who connects to St Neot. 6  miles to the south

St Neot 6 miles is from St Linkinhorne

OPC/C for Linkinhorne does not have BMDS before 1675

Linkinhorne is 6 miles away, a 2 ½ hours walk , from St Neot

Is this a sign of movement from one mining area to another 6 miles away?
