Nobuyuki Tsujii Japan Tour 2012
I used to listen to the rendition of Tsujii-san by CDs, DVDs, on TV and internet.
And this time, for the first time, I got a chance to listen at his live concert.
As I wrote in the previous articles on this blog, I’m very interested in Nobuyuki Tsujii, a Japanese pianist.
Therefore, I attended the concert with a great expectation and a slight anxiety to get disappointed.
As was pointed out on an article somewhere, there were many ladies of middle age.
It made me more anxious.
That concern proved unfounded and what’s more, I experienced a wonderful music which is far different from that on CDs or TV.
After this concert, sadly, I felt the sound of CDs as something unsatisfied.
It is beautiful and well-organized, but just like miniature garden and less interactive with audience.
That is how much the absolutely stunning power of his rendition overwhelmed me.
First of all, he had achieved torrential speed.
After the Chopin and Cliburn competition, he had stepped up his rendition power further.
I felt some pieces to be too fast.
But I think it is acceptable for his age.
It will be the next highlights how he settles down in his 40s and 50s.
Visually, his hands worked fast, of course, and his head moved around a lot, as everyone knows.
But the black part of his clothes, that was from his shoulder to feet and elbows, was very stable.
It moved less but was not rigid.
It seemed relaxed, natural, and capable to handle anything on the keys precisely.
His posture reminded me of a legendary pianist, Lazar Berman, whom I saw at NHK Hall.
The manner of music and a quality of sounds are quite different each other.
But both had a slight stoop and could play stiff pieces effortlessly.
Their postures were visually very similar.
The first half of the program was Debussy and the last was Chopin.
I’m not familiar with the pieces of the first half and too familiar with those of the last.
I was anxious about whether they could be enjoyable.
But by the first piece, he drew me into his music world.
I was afraid that blind pianists tended to play with small volume and less contrast.
But such concern turned out to be groundless.
His vibrant touch generated ringing sounds throughout the hall.
During the first piece, several audiences were coughing gallingly.
But in the next pieces, insidiously, they fall into silence.
All of the audiences seemed to concentrate into his music.
As the program progressed from Arabesque to Bergamasque and Estampes, diverse vibrancy became richer.
I wondered what he did in the last passage of Menuet.
The vibrancy of glissando there was so airy-fairy and wondrous.
His Clair de Lune had mystical vibrancy and was firm, far from saccharine.
Magical touch generated extremely diverse vibrancy in Estampes.
In L'isle joyeuse, a good stiff piece with many trills and crossing arms, he prolonged the first trill and made a breathtaking pause after that.
It had an air of patina and it drew us into the mystical world of this piece.
I knew this piece had some length but he played so exhilaratingly that it ended all too soon.
The first piece of the last half was Chopin waltz No.1.
By this one piece, he proved that he could express the amusingness of Chopin’s music in front of the audience.
He seemed to have self-confidence for that with his cheerful and a little mischievous nature.
In the pieces of Chopin, pianists must have the courage to represent extemporaneity and ever-changing phrasing without hesitation.
In addition, such rendering must move the heart of the audience.
By this piece, which I had been getting bored with and rarely had voluntary to listen to, he succeeded in both points.
I was impressed with scherzo most in the concert.
It was so imposing and had moral tone of virtuoso.
From the start, overwhelming sound and its quality thrilled me.
The fortissimo was so powerful that it might shake the walls of the hall.
Yet, it was well-controlled and listenable.
He played this piece with brisk rhythm, various tone color, rich vibrancy, exquisite pause and elegant nuances.
Above all, sounds were vividly sparkling.
I could understand the reason why audiences crowded to his concerts.
Those sounds cannot fit inside CDs.
I got to hope to come to his concert again.
Frankly speaking, it is a great challenge to play Polonaise Fantaisie in 20s.
This is one of my best pieces written by Chopin.
What image did he have when he was playing this piece which was full of caprice, somber and textured?
I hope he will continue this challenge over 40s and 50s.
Heroic Polonaise divides my opinion whether I like the pianist or no.
This piece reveals the manner of rhythm of the pianist.
I came to like his Heroic Polonaise since I listened to his debut CD.
The sound of the octaves in the middle part was admirable.
And furthermore, I especially impressed by the next soft part.
I was sometimes disappointed by the technically remarkable pianists who could not play such gradual part attractively.
I can say for sure that the pianists who are loved and can keep popularity for a long time are ones who can play such gradual, somber, songlike part fascinatingly which exists in almost all the pieces.
The pianist who cannot develop musical charm in such part would be lost interest and disappear.
Tsujii-san played this part with penetrating sound and admirable nuance.
I was persuaded that this pianist was beyond a temporary or fashionable star.
In an encore, he played Chopin’s 'Tristesse' and ‘Revolutionary’ etude, and of his own composition, theme from “Still we live” and Flowers Bloom.
'Tristesse' etude was one of the reasons I came to like him, too.
His 'Tristesse' today is not a heartbreaking farewell but a parting with hope and another chance.
Even so, I like his manner of singing, that is, sharp rhythm, firm phrasing and some instances that bring tears to my eyes.
Last of all, I would like to refer to the theme from “Still we live”.
I know there exists a certain argument about his own compositions.
I myself don't listen to his own pieces frequently.
I took it only as a lovely piece which represents his warm thoughts in his own way.
He composed this piece thinking of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the hall was just where he was when the earthquake occurred.
So it might be all because he let this piece have it all.
The piece which I have listened to several times by CD and TV sounded significantly different to my heart.
In objective terms, the melancholy melody by right hand deeply spread all over the hall and subtle, faint background-like accompaniment by left hand was in perfect harmony with the melody.
I felt the the real strength of the piano as a musical instrument, too.
I thought this was a kind of music which we could not listen to by CDs.
Unlike the sound of CD, which was not taken by ear of the player but by microphone, the sound I met there was what came into existence by interaction with the sound reflected to the pianist and a sense of existence of audience.
I used to have an impression that the piece was a kind of soft, soothing music.
But the melody rendered by him had a power of driving through my heart uncannily and swayed me emotionally.
It has stringency enough to extend his mind directly.
He has an exceptional ability to demonstrate extraordinarily magical power especially when he is in front of an audience.
Mass media sometimes touts him as a “blind” pianist.
And some critics indicate his blindness as a psychological advantage to an audience.
What I was convinced after this concert was that it is a trifle to think “he is wonderful in spite of blindness” or “I emotionally have a good feeling toward his childhood and growing up”.
If ever he has an advantage to be blind, it is that he has been given many times more stringency to convey something by music, to communicate with audience by sound, to send something invisible to someone’s heart than any other pianist because of his blindness.
I realized we can totally enjoy this characteristic especially in his live concert.

辻井伸行 日本ツアー2012 鑑賞記
CDやDVD、テレビ、インターネットなどでは何度も聴いていたのだが、
今回初めて辻井伸行さんのコンサートを生で聴く機会を得た。
以前このブログでも取り上げていたように、
今非常に注目しているピアニストであるがゆえに、
大きな期待とともに、その期待が裏切られるのではないかという、
少々不安な気持ちを持って臨んだ。
会場に入ってからも、以前どこかで見かけた記事の通り、
中年の女性が非常に多い観客構成にも不安が募った。
だが実際に聴いてみて、そのような不安が吹き飛ぶどころか、
CDやテレビで見聴きするものとは別物と言っていいほどの、
素晴らしい音楽を体験させてもらった。
我が家の音響システムが貧弱なせいがあるかもしれないが、
またピアノや弦楽器などのアコースティック楽器の宿命でもあるのだろうが、
CDで聴く音楽が箱庭的な、小奇麗に飾られ過ぎた、
細部までよく聴こえるが聴き手との相互作用の薄い、
物足りないものに感じらるようになってしまってもったいないと思うほど、
このピアニストの演奏者としての威力に打ち負かされてしまった。
全体の印象として、まず圧倒的なスピード感がある。
ショパンコンクール、クライバーンコンクールを経て、
さらに１段も２段も演奏力が向上している。
曲によっては速すぎると思えるものもある。
私はこれくらいの若さでは、これくらいのスピード感があっていいと思う。
これが４０代、５０代でどう取捨選択され、落ち着いていくか、
それがまた聴きどころになるだろう。
視覚的印象だが、指が良く動くのは当たり前だが、
そして例によって頭が良く動くのだが、
肩から足まで、そして腕も肘のあたりまで、
要するに黒い衣服の部分がほとんど動かないのだ。
動かないからと言って懲り固まっている風ではなく、
実にリラックスした、自然な、しかし鍵盤上のことの何にでも正確に対応できそうな、
実に安定感のある形だ。
私はそれを見て、以前NHKホールで見た、
Lazar Berman というピアニストを思い出した。
音楽のタイプ、音の美しさなど、作り出す音楽の魅力の質はかなり違うが、
ちょっと猫背で、どんな難曲も当たり前のように弾いてしまう、
その姿に視覚的類似点を感じた。
プログラムは前半がドビュッシー、後半がショパンだった。
私自身、前半のものはあまり聴き馴染んでいない曲、
逆に後半のものは聴き込み過ぎている曲で、
いずれの意味でも楽しむことが出来るのか、不安があった。
しかし一曲目、ドビュッシーの「アラベスク」で、このピアニストの世界に引き込まれた。
目の見えないピアニストは、音量が小さかったり、音色のコントラストが小さいのではないか、
との不安感があったが、それは杞憂に終わった。
タッチがしっかりしているのだろう、
歌う部分では個々の音が実に良く鳴っていて、ホールに心地よく響き渡った。
それでも、この１曲目を弾く間は、数名の観客の咳払いが、
少々気になるほど入れ替わり立ち代り聞こえていた。
それが２曲目、３曲目と進むううちに、ふと気づくと、そのような咳が一切聞こえなくなっていた。
まさしくホール全体が辻井さんの音そのものに引き込まれ、集中していっている、
そんな感じだった。
「ベルガマスク組曲」、「版画」と進んでいくにつれて、
音の響きの多彩さが、より鮮やかになっていった印象を持つ。
「メヌエット」の最後のグリッサンドは、一瞬何をやったのかと思うような、
軽やかで不思議な音色だった。
「月の光」は、神秘的な響きと、甘ったるくない引き締まった表情が非常に魅力的だった。
版画に至っては、魔術的タッチといってもいいほどの多彩な響きを聴くことが出来た。
「喜びの島」はトリルと両手交差が飛び交う難曲だが、
出だしのトリルを長く引っ張って、その後オヤッと思うほどの間を置くなど、
いきなりこの曲の妖しい世界に聴衆を引き込む風格のようなものがあった。
その後はまさしく腕が鳴るといった感じの爽快感あふれる演奏で、
かなり長い曲のように思っていたのだが、あっという間に終わってしまった。
前半の印象が良かったために、後半の聴き慣れたショパンの出来はどうかと余計に心配になり、
しかも１曲目がワルツ第１番ということで不安も大きかったが、
ショパンの世界に聴衆を引き込む自信があったのだろう、
この人の陽気で、お茶目なところがある性格の良さがそのまま出たような、
そして弾き手によってその魅力が大いに左右されるショパンの音楽の良さを
見事に演じて見せた、と思えるほどのすばらしい出来だった。
辻井さんはこれ１曲で、ショパンの面白さを実演で示せる器を持っていることを示してくれたように思う。
ショパンでは個人の嗜好や経験に基づいた即興性や自在さを、ためらうことなく発揮する勇気が必要だろう。
そしてそれが奇妙な独りよがりでなく、聴衆に受け入れられ、聴衆の心を揺り動かすことができるかどうかだ。
もう聴き飽きて、自分からはまず聴こうとしないこの曲で、
辻井さんはその両方に成功したことを印象付けてくれた。
そしてこの演奏会で私が最も感心したのが、
次のスケルツォ第２番だった。
巨匠の風格さえ感じられる、実に堂々たる演奏だった。
冒頭から、その音の迫力と質にまず感激した。
そのフォルティッシモの音は、ホールに響き渡るというよりは、
ホールの壁を揺るがすほど、ドーンと響く迫力で、
しかもそれが見事にコントロールされ、音響としてきれいだった。
スケルツォはイタリア語で「冗談」を意味し、「諧謔曲」と呼ばれるらしいが、
おどけておかしみのある、気のきいた冗談、という意味に、
少々深刻な香りを加えたような、急速で快活なこの曲を、
辻井さんは小気味良いリズム、鮮やかな音色変化、響きの豊かさ、絶妙の間、品のいいニュアンスで弾いた。
そして何より、音そのものが生き生きとはじけていた。
おそらくショパンコンクールに出た頃から実演で弾き込み、
磨き上げてきたのだと思うが、
この１曲だけでも、このピアニストの演奏会が常に超満員になる理由がわかる気がした。
これは決してCDなどに入り切る音ではないだろう。
最後の１音に至るまでの構成感も見事に仕上がっている感じだ。
この人の演奏を、またいいホールのいい席で聴きたくなる、
そんな思いを強くさせられた。
２０代で弾く「幻想ポロネーズ」は、はっきり言って大きな挑戦だろう。
私がショパンの曲の中で最も好きなものの一つで、
その一見気まぐれに進んでいく、地味な中にも何とも味のあるこの音楽を、
このピアニストは今、どのようなイメージで弾いているのだろう。
ぜひともこの挑戦を続け、４０代、５０代と弾き込んで行ってもらいたいと思う。
私は「英雄ポロネーズ」の弾き方で、そのピアニストへの好みが大きく分かれる。
この曲で、その人のリズムの取り方の癖がわかってしまうからだ。
そして以前CDで聴いたときから、私は辻井さんの弾く「英雄ポロネーズ」が好きになっていた。
だからこのプログラム最後の曲は安心して聴くことが出来た。
中間部以降の、左手のオクターブの響きも良かったが、
私が一番好印象を持ったのが、それに続く、少し静かになる部分の歌い方だった。
超絶技巧を誇る幾多のピアニストを聴くたびに、
この緩徐楽章的部分のつまらなさ、退屈さにがっかりさせられた。
そして真に聴衆から愛され、長くその人気を保てるのは、
様々な曲の中にほぼ必ず存在する、
このような静かな、一見地味な、そして歌のある部分のうまさなのだと、
私は自信を持って断言できる。
そのような部分に音楽的魅力を出せない音楽家は、必ず飽きられ、消えてゆく。
辻井さんはこの曲のこの部分を、ホール全体によく通るほどの、
やや大きめの芯のある音で、浪々と、実に魅力的なニュアンスで弾いてくれた。
これを聴いて私は、このピアニストは、決して一過的な話題性だけでもてはやされる音楽家ではないことを確信した。
アンコールは、ショパンの「別れの曲」、「革命」、
そして自作曲の「それでも、生きてゆく」、「花は咲く」だった。
「別れの曲」も私がこのピアニストを好きになった決め手となった曲の一つだ。
今のこのピアニストの「別れの曲」は、決して悲しい別れではなく、
また会える、希望に満ち溢れた「別れ」だが、
緩やかだがシャープなリズム、引き締まった、しかし時にほろっとくる表情など、
私はこの曲における彼の歌い方が好きなのだ。
さて「それでも生きてゆく」だ。
辻井さんの自作曲に賛否があることは知っている。
私自身彼の自作曲のすべてを好んで聴くというほどではない。
この曲についても、彼の思いは伝わってくる良い曲ではあるが、
彼の曲に良く出てくるある種の癖のようなものがやはり感じられる、
彼らしいと言えば彼らしい、愛すべき小品だ、というぐらいの認識だった。
これは東日本大震災のことを思って辻井さんが作った曲で、
また今回のホールが、3.11の東日本大震災当日に辻井さんが居合わせた場所だった、
ということもあったための、入魂の演奏だった、ということもあったかもしれない。
テレビやCDで何回か聴いたことがあるこの曲が、
はっきり言って、それらとは別物の音楽として私の心に響いた。
客観的に記述するならば、
ホールの隅々まで響く、憂いを持った右手の旋律と、
非常にかすかに、淡い背景のように絶妙に響く左手の伴奏音との、
見事な調和のもとに進んでいく音楽、ということになるが、
ピアノという楽器の底力を聴いた思いもする。
これもCDなどでは絶対に聴けない類の音楽ではないかと思わされた。
演奏者の聴く音とは異なる、マイクで拾った音として伝わっていくそれらの音楽と異なり、
同一空間で、演奏者の耳に戻ってくる音と、そこにいる聴衆の存在感とのフィードバックの中でしか成り立ち得ないと思える、
実に見事な響きだった。
静かな感じの曲という印象を持っていたが、朗々と芯を持って響く音によって、
旋律が異様なほど心に突き刺さり、魂が揺り動かされる威力のようなものを感じた。
その響きの中には、およそ音楽を超えて、自分の意志や心の声を直接伝えている、
そんな迫力さえ伝わってきた。
ここで聴いたこの曲は、単にその曲の作曲としての良さをはるかに超えて、
このピアニストの演奏力と意志の力で、その魅力を何倍にも拡大されたものと言えるだろう。
このピアニストは、人を相手にした時、異常なまでの魔術的力を発揮する稀有の存在である、
そんな印象を強くした。
よく辻井さんのことを、盲目のピアニストとしてもてはやし、
またそれがある種の心情的アドバンテージであるかのように揶揄する評論を見かけることがある。
しかし私が今回生で辻井さんの演奏を聴いて確信できることは、
盲目であるのにすごいとか、その生い立ちへの心情的好感などということは、
もはやちっぽけなことであって、
もしこのピアニストにとって盲目であることにアドバンテージがあるとすれば、
聴衆に音楽で何かを伝えてやろう、
聴衆と音でコミュニケーションし、心の奥に、目には見えない何かを届けてやろう、という迫力が、
視覚がないがゆえに通常のピアニストに比べ何倍も多く備わったこと、
ということにあると言ってしまえるのではないかと思う。
そしてその成果は、このピアニストを生で聴いてこそ、
しみじみと体感できるように思う。

辻井伸行 サントリーホール
先日、辻井伸行さんの日本ツアー東京公演に行ってきました。場所はサントリーホール。
このツアーでは宇都宮でのコンサートもありましたが、できれば音響の素晴らしいホールで聴きたいと
想っておりました。
久 しぶりのサントリーホールでしたが、そのファサードやロビーの雰囲気は変わらずで、クラッシック向けというより、本質的な音楽鑑賞が好きな人向けのホール なのだな、と改めて感じました。国際フォーラムとはちょっと違いますね。個人的にはホール建築は大好きで、サントリーホールはウ”ィンヤード形式ですので 前後ろを感じなく
どの席でもピアニッシモまで響くようです。 もうだいぶ前になりますがパコデルシアの公演を聴いた時にも
弦の響きが冴えていました。
オーケストラやブラスであれば判断できるのですが、ピアニストの方の公演はあまり聴いたことが無く、
辻井さんの「音」は素晴らしいのでしょうけれどたぶん良すぎて自分の頭の中では比較できるものが
ありませんでした。
ただ、後半のショパンはピアノが壊れるのではと思うほど指と鍵盤のせめぎ合いで
これが魂の音なのかな、とどきどきしながら聴いていました。
サントリーホールは2006席あるそうですが、ほぼ満席でアンコールにも何度も答えていただき
辻井さん自身の言葉で曲の解説もあったりで素敵な公演でした。
全盲である辻井さんがどんな演奏をするのかライブで観たかったというのが最初の目的でした。
想像するに、たぶんものすごい練習を重ね、心を込めて本番の演奏に望んでいるのでしょう。
今は、全盲であるなしに関わらず、もう一度辻井さんのコンサートに行ってみたいと
思っています。
人を感動させる力を再確認するために。
Nobuyuki Tsujii Suntory Hall, Tokyo
The other day, I went to a concert of the Japan tour of Nobuyuki Tsujii, at the Tokyo's Suntory Hall location.
On this tour there was also a concert in Utsunomiya, but I wanted to hear a great sound in this hall,
It had been a long time since I was in Suntory Hall. I felt again the atmosphere of the facade and the lobby would not change, rather essential for listening to classical musi; it's such a revered venue. The international forum and a bit different. Personally I love the architecture of the hall - because of its U-shape, you do not see the windows in the front and back.
It seems to resonate to pianissimo on any seat. Even when I was listening to the performance of Paco de Lucíaa <a guitarist> a long time ago, the sound of the strings was quiet.
Even with the brass in the orchestra I never heard better performance of a pianist.
Mr. Tsuji's "sound" is fantastic, to my mind it is incomparable.
However, in the second half of Chopin, the clashing of the keyboard did make me think about broken fingers, I wonder if this is the pounding sound of the soul.
Suntory Hall has 2006 seats, and it was almost completely full <Editorial: the concert was officially sold out>. He played many encores.
It was a great performance and there is also a description of the pieces in the own words of Mr. Tsujii.
It was my primary goal to see the completely blind Mr. Tsujii perform live.
I can only imagine the tremendous practice that it must take him, and he plays from the heart for the performance.
Now, whether he is blind or not, I would go to a concert of Mr. Tsujii again, to re-affirm his power to move people.

バレンタインは
実は、バレンタインの日は
辻井 伸行くんのコンサートに行ってきたんです！ラブラブ
本当に素晴らしかったです。
曲を弾き終えて、ピアノから手を離すまで・・・
すべてが音楽でした。
今回のコンサートでは、
ドビュッシーさんとショパンさんを
弾いてらっしゃいました！音譜
どの曲も素晴らしかったですが、
特にドビュッシーさんの「喜びの島」がすごかった・・・！
この感動は、
すごかったという言葉ではなかなか言い表せないですね・・・
もう、音がうねってるんです・・・すごい！
アンコールでは、
なんと「別れの曲」を弾いてくれました。
ピーちゃ～ん！あせる
「花は咲く」も弾いてくれてウルウルでした。
NHKで一度歌って、大好きになった曲だったから！
とにかく、大感激なコンサートでした。

いつか共演出来ることを祈って・・・！

Anyway, it was a great concert that left me impressed.

辻井伸行日本ツアー
ピアニスト辻井伸行さんの日本ツアー最終日＠サントリーホールということで
なんだか代打で来させてもらって申し訳ないくらい素晴らしいコンサートだった。
前半のドビュッシーの自然の様子が思い浮かぶような曲たちにうっとりした。
子供の頃あこがれたショパンの曲もあって凄くうれしく思い出したりもしたりして
華麗な演奏を堪能した。
遠めで観るとなめらかな動きだからか、手がピアノをなでてるように見えて仕方なかった。
何曲も難しそうな曲を演奏したあと、お辞儀をするときになって、
そういえば盲目のピアニストだったよなと思い出し、確認したくなるような不思議な気持ちになる。
ピアニストって1人であんなにたくさんの音を出して、観客何百に聞かせて感動させるって
すごいエネルギーだよなとも思った。
ツアーのラストだったからなのか、アンコールはとってもボリューム満点で
第三部だといってもよいくらい豪華だった。自作の曲を数曲と、革命、花は咲くなどを演奏してくれた。
自作の曲のなかで、以前にハマって泣きながら観てたドラマ『それでも生きてゆく』のテーマ曲が
演奏されておぉうと思った。作曲もする人だったのね。♪それでも、生きてゆく～メインテーマ～♪
改めて聞くと胸が締め付けられる様な内容にぴったりだった。
あとは、崇拝する菅野よう子作曲の『花は咲く』のピアノソロ曲は感動してしまった。
辻井さん版のCDが欲しい！
アンコールで好きな曲の生の素晴らしい演奏に出会えて凄く幸運だったと思う。
今度会ったらK田さんに感謝の気持ちを忘れずに伝えねば。

The last day of the Japan tour of pianist Nobuyuki Tusjii at Suntory Hall...
It was a great concert even though I am sorry about my friends misfortune <they could not come>
... The first half of Debussy, we were charmed by songs that seem very natural.
I was very pleased with the Chopin, even remembering some songsfrom childhood.
I enjoyed the brilliant performance.
His hands stroking the piano with smooth motion, his eyes seemingly far-seeing.
After playing what must be difficult songs, he rose to bow, and I was reminded that he is a blind pianist, a strange feeling.
The sound of a single person, such a pianist, impressed an audience of hundreds <actually thousands>.
I also thought he has such an amazing energy.
Whether because it was the last of the tour, the encore portion was very hearty
It was gorgeous, so generous that it could be said to be the third part. He played many songs Revolution, "flowers bloom", and his own songs.
Among the songs of his own, is the theme song, "Still, we live." I was addicted to this drama and cried when I watched it.
I thought it was <somebody else> playing. Now I know that person is also the composer.
I was perfectly content, my chest tightening as I listened.
After that song, piano solo composed by Yoko Kanno worship "flowers bloom" was impressive.
I want a CD of Mr. Tsujii's rendition!
I think I was very lucky to have attended a great live performance of my favorite songs in the encore.

本当にとても美しい音色を聴くことができました。

辻井伸行さんのピアノコンサート（サントリーホール）
●私はピアノを聴くのが好きなので いろんな人のを聴いていまして
一番のお気には ユンディ・リ、そしてフジ子・ヘミング・・・
辻井さんを聴くのは初めてだったのです。
本は読んでましたけど。（お母様の著書は感動しました）
● CDで聴いて、その音にはあんまり興味持ってなかったの。
響いてこなかった。
（そのCDは アメリカでのコンクールで優勝したときのライブCDでした）
正直、『【目が見えない】という部分で、≪ゲタ履かせてもらってる≫んじゃないの？』
とさえ、思ってたんです。
さらに、演奏する「ショパン」はまあ、定石だから置いとくとして、
≪音楽の印象派～象徴派≫といわれるドビュッシーを
『20代そこそこの男子』がどう弾くのん？と
かな～り偏見な気持ちでいたんですよ。
★それが～初めて生で聴いて、観て。
ぼう然…＆そう思ってた自分をすごくすごく反省。
すごい。素晴らしい！ 盲目とか全然関係ない！
★ステージのソデから スタッフさんに付き添われ登場してきた辻井さん。
椅子に座って・・・5秒もしないで 即 演奏開始！『アラベスク第一番』。
その音がまた…もー。流れるような「光のきらめき」で。
ひえええ～ドビュッシーだあ…と、心で震えてました。

Nobuyuki Tsujii's piano concert at Suntory Hall
The concert of Pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii is part of a National tour started since last October.
I like to listen to piano music and have listened to many, almost every one of Fujiko Hemming, and Yundi Li, ... ...
This was the first time that I listened to Mr. Tsujii, although I had read and was impressed by his mother's book(s).
●Listening to his CD (live performances when he won the contest in the U.S.), I was not very much interested in his sound.
I thought: Is it not at least partly honest that his blindness gave him the honor?
In addition, the "Chopin" <works on the recital program> is standard,
The Debussy is said to be "impressionistic" music.
"How good can a 20-something man play them?"
I harbored a prejudice in my stomach.
★ For the first time I heard him live - watching, listening.
I was stunned ... and really really regretted what I thought to myself.
Awesome. Amazing! It does not matter at all that he is blind!
★Tsujii, after being led on stage by a staff, started playing immediately, not even 5 seconds after seated on the bench! "Arabesque No. 1".
The sound was a fluent "shimmering of light."
Oh yeah ... Debussy, and I was trembling in my heart.

休憩後の後半、ショパン。
プログラム最後に持ってきた『英雄ポロネーズ』は当然、大拍手ですが
その2番目の『スケルツォ第二番』～
いやいやいや！本当に、すっごい！
★スケルツォは≪冗談≫という意味があって、
この軽くて諧謔（かいぎゃく、と読みます）的な音楽を ショパンによって
より深い…なんというか、魂まで掘り下げられる音楽に発展していったと
私は解釈するんですが（顔

そのショパンのスケルツォを表現してたと 感じたんですよね。

何度も何度も話を交わして
辻井さんの《宇宙》のイメージを膨らませ作曲したのですって・・・。
身体器官の目じゃなくて辻井さんの「心眼」で観た宇宙～ その音を聴きました。
★隣に座ってた（見知らぬ）品の良いおばちゃまが
『チケット取るのに1時間電話かけ続けたのよ～』って 嬉しそうに言ってました。
ほんと、プラチナチケットです。辻井伸行さんのピアノ。
聴いた後、何も喋れない～ただ浸っていたい、と
この珠玉の時間に感謝です
Part 2
Of course, the "Heroic Polonaise" at the end of the program brought great applause.
But the "Scherzo No. 2" was truly amazing.
★ scherzo means «joke». There is a taste,
This light piece of musical humor (and yes, humor) by Chopin
is ... deeper; it developed into music that is down to the soul.
And I felt Tsujii's performance today really expressed the scherzo of Chopin.

★ Mr. Tsujii , before playing the "Still we live" encore, said, This is a song I made after the earthquake, as something that I think of that I can to do as a musician."· · · Many people in the audience here and there wiped their tears.
★ The last encore of "Hayabusa "is a theme song he wrote for a movie starring Ken Watanabe san; it really conveys the image of "space". He heard the sound of the universe through the organs of his body, not through the eyes. Tsujii's "third eye".
My Aunt seated next to me said, " I am happy that I held the phone for an hour to book tickets."
Really, Nobuyuki Tsujii's piano is a platinum ticket .
After listening, I want to just soak in the afterglow, not speaking anything.
I am grateful for the time of this treasure.

日本ツアー東京公演サントリーの最終日・・・この日をどんなに待っていた事か。昨年９月の初日から半年～本当に無事に迎える事が出来て良かったと思います。
初日の千葉公演よりもスリムになった辻井さん、それに髪型も変わって青年らしくとても似合っているなぁ～と思いました。
前 半のドビュッシーは少し元気がないように感じてしたまったけど後半のショパンは特に英雄ポロネーズは力強い演奏でした。それにアンコールが１４日も５曲と こちらで知りましたが、この日も５曲で、しかもショパンのノクターン８番はとても聴きたい１曲でしたので嬉しい気持ちで一杯です。澄み切った音色が銀世界 を思わせる素敵な時間でした♪
と ころでサントリーには何度か訪れていますが、補助席を初めて見ました。補助席も安物のパイプ椅子ではなくサントリーらしく落ち着いたオリジナルデザインで サントリーのロゴもあり、演奏中、客席を見ると通路や後も人で埋まってましたから当日追加席を作ったんだな～と思いました。とにかくサントリーでアンコー ルは通常２曲ですから５曲も時間を許すサントリーにも辻井さんには脱帽です！！
I have been waiting for this day ... the last concert of the Japan tour in Tokyo Suntory. I think it was good that he came back safely after the six months since that first day of September last year.
I thought Mr. Tsujii has become slimmer than when he performed in the Chiba performance on the first day of his tour. It also seems to me that he has changed to a hairstyle that is more suitable for a young man.
I feel that the first half of Debussy seems to lack energy, but the Chopin Heroic Polonaise in the second half was a particularly strong performance.
I knew that on the 14th he played five encore songs, and today he also played five. I was filled with happy feelings to hear Chopin's Nocturne No. 8, because it was one song that I still want to listen to. ♪ Its crystal clear sound was a nice reminiscent of the snowy world. By the way, I have visited Suntory several times, but I saw for the first time auxiliary seats. I presume they must have been made available to seat additional people. The auxiliary chairs were not the cheap metal pipe chairs, but ones with the logo of Suntory Hall with the original design, and they were filled with people. And, hats off to Suntory for allowing Mr. Tsujii the time to play five encore songs, when two songs are the norm at Suntory!!

昨 日の東京サントリーの会場周辺はビル街と言う事もあって風がとても強く吹いてました。... 辻井さんの髪型～本当に似合ってました!!! Yesterday in Tokyo, in the city buildings near the Suntory concert hall, the wind was blowing very strongly sometimes. The hair style of Mr. Tsujii really suits him!!!

サントリーホールの最終公演に行ってきました。
サントリーホールで聴けるならもう一度聴きたいというのでチケット取りました。
娘はDebussyが大好きで、よく練習していたようです。
初 日の千葉では、なかなか弾きはじめなくてめずらしいと思いました。
緊張気味だったのかもしれません。
今日はすぐ弾きはじめ余裕が感じられました。
今回ピアノを真横から見下ろす席で、はじめて手元が見えました。
ピアノがまるでからだの一部になっているように、無理のない自然に流れるように
動く指。演奏姿勢も美しいですね。感激です。
二回目だと聴く側にも余裕ができて、より細かなニュアンスを楽しむことができました。
絶妙な左右の音のバランスもすばらしく、弱音も高音も美しく響いてました。
娘は喜びの島が一番好きで、自分では難しくて弾くことができずにいますが、
軽々と弾きこなすのぶ君に感嘆してました。
のぶ君のすさまじい練習から生まれた音の世界を聴ける幸せ。
コンサートでたくさんの方と一緒に聴く生のピアノの響きは本当に美しいです。
まわりで何人か「ありがとう」と声かけしてました。
I went with two daughters to the final performance of the tour at Suntory Hall. Daughters, who came with us to a concert for the first time when we saw Nobu San in "Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall", were very impressed. We were talking about his playing with excitement. My daughters love Debussy, and have been practicing it well.
I thought of his first day on tour in Chiba, when he uncharacteristically did not start playing immediately. He might have been nervous. Today he started playing immediately.
Our seats this time allowed us to overlook the piano from the side, and I was able to see his hands for the first time.
The piano seems to be part of his body, and the fingers move naturally. The performance posture was beautiful. It was inspiring.
Listening to it a second time, I was able to enjoy the finer nuances. The balance of the sound from the left and right hands was wonderfully exquisite. Soft sound and loud sound echoed beautifully.
The "Island of Joy" is my daughter's favorite, but it is difficult and she has not been able to play it on her own. It is a wonder that Nobu can play it so casually.
I was happy to hear the sound heard around the world that results from tremendous practice of Nobu. It was a really beautiful experience to be in a concert listening to the sound of live piano along with a lot of people.
I had to say "Thank you" to people around.
Mr. Masahiro Kawakami, childhood piano teacher of Nobuyuki Tsujii, was at Suntory Hall yesterday with his wife. In this Feb 16 blog post, he wrote: "Today's program was Debussy and Chopin only. I feel somehow I was very fond of it." (Mr. Kawakami does not use superlatives :-)

「辻井伸行」日本ツアー２０１２/137 コンサート
本日 ２月１６日 待望の「辻井伸行」の 日本ツアー２０１２/１３コンサート
“サントリー・ホール”へ行ってきました
昨年１０月 千葉県文化会館からスタートし 本日まで 沖縄 青森 札幌 四国
九州・・・・２７都市を巡って 東京へもどってきました
（尚 ５月から 東北被災地(宮城・福島・岩手・茨城）に追加公演があるようです）
チケットは発売即完売で なかなか手に入り難いのですが何とか１枚ゲット ヤッタァー！
...
勿論 「ドビュッシー」のベルガマスク組曲の“月の光”には 涙がこぼれそうになり
それより“喜びの島”の 何とも繊細な音の絡まりが 次から次えと波のように押し寄せ
そのリズムの変化に富んだ美しい音色に圧倒され その心地よさに 痺れます
因みに この曲はルーブル美術館所蔵のワトーの絵「シテール島への船出」を観た
「ドビュッシー」が 深い感銘を受け 霊感得て完成したという謂れがあるそうです
そして「ショパン」は お馴染みの“華麗なる大円舞曲”に 心踊り・・・・
圧巻は“スケルツォ第２番” あの独特なイントロにグッと魂を掴まれて引き摺り回され
そして“幻想ポロネーズ”から“英雄ポロネーズ”で 見事なエンディング
実に心憎い選曲で 楽しませてくれました
あの独特の首を振りツツ 身体を大きく揺らしながら 懸命に弾く姿に惹きつけられし
弾き終わって 僅か５秒ぐらいなんだけど ピアノに上体を覆いかぶせるようにする
その『間』が なんとも感動を呼ぶのです
そして 深々と 前後左右にお辞儀を ピアノの端を触れながら するんだけど
でも時々 そのピアノに手が届かず フラッとすると 客席が大きくどよめく・・・・
それがチョット可愛いい・・・・
アンコール曲では「花は咲く」のアレンジが素晴らしく これも泣きそうになる

"Nobuyuki Tsujii" tour 2012/137 Japan concert
Tour 2012/13 February 16, the long-awaited concert in Japan today of the "Nobuyuki Tsujii"
I went to the "Suntory Hall"
Starting in October 2003 from Chiba's Kaikan Bunka to today, going through Okinawa. Aomori, Sapporo. Shikoku, Kyushu · · · · 27 cities beforeI coming back to Tokyo
(It should be noted that additional performances appear to have been added in May to take place to be the Tohoku disaster area Ibaraki, Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima.)
I somehow managed to get a ticket in hand, but it was not easy, as the concert was sold out almost at once...
"Clair de Lune" from the of Bergamask suite of "Debussy" -- the tear was of course likely to spill.
"Pleasure Island" was a delicate tangle of sound coming in waves.
The comfort of overwhelming beautiful and varied sound and rhythm induced sleep.
By the way, this song reminds me of the painting "sail to the island Shiteru" by Watteau in the Louvre
I was deeply impressed with the Debussy, a complete inspiration.
"Chopin" and the familiar "Large Brilliant Waltz" - my heart danced.
Masterpiece Scherzo No. 2" - the introduction grabbed the soul.
Stunning endings in "Polonaise" heroic and "Polonaise fantasy"
I really enjoyed the refined repertoire.
I was drawn to that unique shaking of his head and body.
When he finished playing, his body hovered over the keyboard for about 5 seconds; very impressive.
And he bowed deeply to front, back, left and right while touching the edge of the piano.
But occasionally his hand does not reach the piano, and he tumbles a little. It was a cute moment.
For one of the encores, he played his wonderful arrangement of "flowers bloom", and tears came.
It has been a long time since I was at a concert; I greatly enjoyed it.

辻井伸行さんのピアノは若くてきれいな音がくるくるあふれるようでした。私はやっぱりドビュッシーのアラベスクが一 番好き。Nobuyuki Tsujii 's piano sound is young and full of beauty. I like Debussy's Arabesque best.

サントリーホール・大ホールが見事に満席でした。
先行予約で席を確保してくれた友人に感謝。
辻井くん、
本当に音楽があふれ出してくる人なんだな、
ということがひしひしと伝わってきました。
彼の背中側の席でしたので、
その背中が、どっしりと構えて全くぶれないこと、
手・指には無駄な跳躍が全くなく、
鍵盤に吸い付くようで、しっかり音量が出ていること、
ミスタッチがないこと、……よ～く見えました。
安定感のあるアーティストだと思いました。
ただ、師である横山幸雄氏の演奏と瓜二つ…
と思われる曲もいくつかあり、これが
楽譜を読まずに耳で覚える、という演奏の特徴（限界？）かも
と思われました。
また、
全28公演（今日は27公演目）というプログラムゆえか、
生演奏ならではの一期一会の緊張感
といったものには欠けるようにも感じました。
5曲に及ぶアンコールのうち2曲は自作曲。
このあたりをふくらませつつ、
今後も、彼独自のリサイタル形式を作っていくのだろうな
と思います。

The large hall of Suntory Hall was filled with flying colors.
Thanks to a friend I was able to secure a seat in the Pre-ordering. Mr. Tsujii, , you should be a man of music really comes overflowing that I've been travel and acutely. Mr. Tsujii's music has really become widely heard.
Because I had a seat on his backside, I could see that his back does not shake at all, but poised and stout, and his hands waste no jumping, drawing sound from the keyboard firmly. I thought this is an artist with a sense of stability.
However, there are a few songs that I think are too similar to the playing of his teacher Yukio Yokoyama, perhaps a result of his learning by ear without reading music (a limitation?).
In addition, as this is the 27th performance (out of 28), I feel that some spontaneity unique to live music is missing.
Five encore songs, including two of his own compositions.
I think this is an illustration of his own recital, which I think will continue to develop into a form. It was a recital that I feel something gifted, called talent.
<Editorial: About the similarity of Nobu's playing with Mr. Yukio Yokoyama - I cannot say because I have not heard the music of Mr. Yokoyama, but Nobu learns by ear from listening to cassettes, not to his teacher's playing. I do agree with the blogger's point about the loss of spontaneity with so many performances. In fact, counting his recitals overseas, this performance was the 30th, with 9 more to go in Japan and 5 more in the U.S.!>
リサイタル♪りさいたる ～その２～ & 裏ツアー

昨年に引き続き今年も辻井くんのリサイタルを、
サントリーホールで鑑賞して参りました～
昨年以上に辻井くんや彼絡みのチケは入手が難しく、
ついに完全抽選って公演も出だしましたよ
クラッシックで席選べないって・・・初めて聞きますよ。
とは言いつつ今回は２Fですが手元が見える下手側を死守しました。

ちょうど1年前初めて辻井くんのリサイタルを聴いて、
ソロは暫く間空けようかなって思っていた訳なのですが～・・・
やっぱり演目にショパンって入ると反応しちゃいます。
個人的には昨年のモーツァルト&ベートーベンより、
今回のプログラムの方が好きでした。
手の上下アクションが全くなく鍵盤の上を這う様に張り付く様に演奏する辻井くん。
叩く感じが全然ないのにあの強弱は不思議だ
相変わらずミスタッチもなく、どの作曲家の曲もどんな曲調を聴いても、
あの清らかな汚れ無き音色はやっぱり彼ならではなのかな。
その音色を聴くと、
その日は自分も含めて全てのものが清らかな気がしてしまう。
そんな訳なかった。。。って翌日気付く分けだけれど・・・
ラストの♪英雄ポロネーズ♪は感動。 ←心身ともにﾁｷﾝ肌発生ｻﾞｻﾞ-
もともとドラマチックな曲だけれど、
清らかさと情熱が不思議に噛み合っていてすごく良かった。
でもアンコールの♪別れの曲♪や♪革命♪はいち音いち音清らか過ぎて、
個人的には“別れ”でも“革命”でもなかった。
ところで辻井くんのこのソロツアー、東京は2月14日と16日だったのですが、
滞在先などもLoveな空気に包まれるうえ、
レストランとかも予約が取りにくいバレンタインデーを、
何故わざわざ選んだのかといえば、この為でございやす。
Tour Recital - Part 2
I saw the recital of Mr. Tsujii this year, as in the previous year, at Suntory Hall.
Just as last year, tickets of Mr. Tsujii are hard to come by,
I had to enter a lottery
I could not choose my seat -- it's unheard of in classical music.
The seat is on the poor side on the second floor <something like that>.

Just a year ago I listened to the recital of Mr. Tsujii for the first time ...
Personally, compared to last year's Mozart and Beethoven, I liked this program better.
Mr. Tsujii plays with his hands very close to the keyboard, with hardly any up and down movements of the hand.
It is unusual that there are no strong beats ...
But still the melody of the composer is conveyed
The one is immaculate and pure, a unique wonder.
When I listen to the sound, everything is crystal clear.
I didn't know why. . . but the next day I noticed ...
The last piece, Herioic Polonaise, was especially impressive. I had goose bumps both physically and mentally -
But it's a dramatic song originally,
It was really good purity and passion that have engaged with wonder.
Encore "Revolution" and "Farewell" ...
By the way, Tsujii kun's solo tour in Tokyo are on February 14 and 16,
with love in the air,
On Valentine's Day it is difficult to make restaurant reservations ...

今日、辻井伸行さんの演奏会に行ってきました！
なんと言っても、カンパネラ！
あれをアンコールで弾いてくれました！
動画サイトで見ていて、
是非、聞きたかったので、とても嬉しかったです＾＾
あんなにカンパネラを上手く弾く人に、
これから会えるのか＾＾；
それから、「それでも、生きていく」のテーマも
とても良かったですw
近くの女性が涙していました。
あと、別れの曲も良かったですw
アンコールを３，４回もしてくれて、
とても満足でした！
でも、クラシックのピアノの曲を聞きに行くときは、
勉強してから、行ったほうがいいですね＾＾；

Today, I went to a concert of Mr. Nobuyuki Tsujii! He played La Campanella as an encore! I had watched that on video, but wanted to see it live by all means, and he played it so well.
Then, "Still, we live," was very good; women were near tears. "Farewell" song was also good. He played three or four times an encore, I was very satisfied ! It was good to hear the music of the classical piano, rather from studying. Oh, that was a good day

いい休日
先日、日曜日にお休みを頂いて、辻井伸行さんのピアノコンサートに行ってきました。マーケティング室の橋本です。
2年ぶりに聞くことができました。楽しそうにピアノをひく姿を見ていると、こちらまで笑顔になります。クラシックはほとんど聞くことがないのですが、辻井さんの弾くショパンが一番好きです。ふと、辻井さんの言葉を思い出しました。（物議を醸した質問でしたが）
彼はうまれながらの全盲ですが、もし目が見えるようになったら一番何が見たい？という質問に「両親の顔を見てみたい」と答えました。親からの愛情が、伝わっているんだなと深く感じたことを思い出しました。
目の前にある事があたりまえで、目の前にあるものしか見ようとしない事が普通になりつつある中で、辻井さんには心で伝わっているものがたくさんあるんだなと感じました。顔色を窺ったりせず、純粋な気持ちで人に接する。
それが、ピアノの音色にのって聞く人の心を満たしているんだと思うと、本当に素晴らしい才能だと思います。
今、一番感謝したい人が、今、一番会いたい人。
今、一番欲しいものが、今、一番見たいもの。
皆さんは誰を、何を思い浮かべますか。

Good holiday
The other day, I got a break on Sunday, and I went to a piano concert of Mr. Nobuyuki Tsujii...
I was able to listen for the first time in two years.
Looking at the figure happily playing the piano made me smile.
I almost never listen to classic, but I like the Chopin of Mr. Tsujii the most. Suddenly, I remembered the words of Mr. Tsujii (in response to a controversial question).
He is born blind, what would he most want to see if he could see?
His answe to the question: "I want to take a look of faces of my parents."
I remember that it made me think of my loving parents.
It is natural for us to see only what is in front of our eyes
Mr. Tsujii senses Ia lot of things that are transmitted to his heart
Without being able to see, he is in contact with people in the pure feeling.
And so, he is able to connect with the hearts of those who listen to the sound of his piano playing.
I think it is a really great talent.
Now, I want to thank some people the most,
Now, I would like to meet most people.

Now, what I want to see the most.

ミィママは、２月１０日にAAB開局２０周年記念講演を聴きに秋田市に・・・
２時間も楽しんだミィママです。
若い人からお年寄りまで幅広い客層で満席でしたよ。
アンコールで３曲も弾いてくれました。
CDを購入しようといましたが・・・あまり多くの人で断念。
３０分も前から待っていたのだから、先に買っておくべきと反省・・・
一番乗りです。
ドビュッシー４曲、ショパン４曲、アンコールで３曲感激しました。
フジ子・ヘミングの森の情景作品８２の７「シューマン」より辻井伸行のほうが、迫力のあるピアノ演奏でした。

Feb. 10 was Akita City AAB Broadcasting's 20th Anniversary on February 10,
I enjoyed two hours at Mimama.
The venue was filled with a wide range of audiences, young and old people.
He also played three songs for the encore.
Yes I was trying to buy a CD, but like a lot of people I gave up.
I regret ... because I was waiting for 30 minutes before, and should have bought it then.
4 Debussy songs, four Chopin songs. I was impressed with three songs played for encores.
Compared to Fujiko Kemming "Schumann" 82, Nobuyuki Tsujii is better, the piano playing is more powerful... <The translation of this sentence is suspect; it may very well mean the other way round :->
