Meanings in Solah

Do'a Iftitah :

التّحِيّاتُ = The greetings/salutations

المُباركاتُ = the Blessings

 الصَّلَوَاتُ  = the Prayers

  الطَّيِبَاتُ  = the Goodness

  لِلهِ  = for Allah 

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ =  The peace be upon you, 

 اَيُّهَاالنَّبِيُّ  = O Prophet, 

 وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ  = and the mercy of Allah

وَبَرَكَاتُهُ = and His blessings (blessings of His) .  

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْنَا  = The peace be on us 

وَ عَلَى = and on 

 عِبَادِ اللهِ = the slaves of Allah 

 الصَّالِحِيْنَ  = the righteous.

اَشْهَدُ = I bear witness 

 اَنْ لاَّ اِلَهَ = that no god 

 اِلاَّ الله = except Allah. 

وَاَشْهَدُ = and I bear witness  

اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا =  that Muhammad

 رَسُولُ الله = the Messenger of Allah

اللَّهُمَّ  =  O Allah

صَلِّ =  send praises/prayers (salawat)

عَلَى =  upon 

سَيّدِنَا = our leader (leader of ours)

مُحَمَّد  =  Muhammad (s.a.w)

وَ عَلَى = and upon 

آلِ  سَيّدِنَا مُحَمَّد = the family of our leader Muhammad (s.a.w)

كَمَا صَلَّيتَ  = as you have sent praises/prayers (salawat)

عَلَى سَيّدِنَا اِبرَاهِيمَ  = upon our leader Ibrahim a.s 

وَ عَلَى آلِ  سَيّدِنَا  اِبرَاهِيمَ =  and upon the family of our leader Ibrahim a.s. 

وَ بَارِك = and bless 

عَلَى سَيّدِنَا مُحَمَّد وَ عَلَى آلِ  سَيّدِنَا مُحَمَّد

= upon our leader Muhammad s.a.w and upon the family of our leader Muhammad s.a.w.

كَمَا  = as 

بَرَكْتَ  = you have blessed

عَلَى سَيّدِنَا اِبرَاهِيمَ وَ عَلَى آلِ  سَيّدِنَا اِبرَاهِيمَ

= upon our leader Ibrahim a.s and upon the family of our leader Ibrahim a.s.

فِى الْعَالَمِينَ = In all the nations,

اِنَّكَ = verily (indeed) You are 

 حَمِيدٌ = Praised

 مَجِيدٌ =Glorified

Doa Qunut

اَللّهُمَّ اهْدِنِىْ فِيْمَنْ هَدَيْتَ ، وَعَافِنِى فِيْمَنْ عَافَيْتَ 

وَتَوَلَّنِى فِيْمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ ، وَبَارِكْ لِىْ فِيْمَا اَعْطَيْتَ 

وَقِنِيْ شَرَّمَا قََضَيْتَ ،

 فَاِ نَّكَ تَقْضِىْ وَلاَ يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ 

وَاِ نَّهُ لاَ يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ ، وَلاَ يَعِزُّ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ 

تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى مَا قَضَيْتَ 

وَاَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْكَ ، وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى سَيِّدَنَا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ اْلاُمِّيِّ
وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ

اَللّهُمَّ = O Allah,

اهْدِنِىْ = Guide me   ( اِهْدِنَا = Guide us)

فِيْمَنْ   = as whom

هَدَيْتَ = you have guided

وَعَافِنِى  = and  strengthen me/ give me good health  (عَافِنَا = strenghten us/  give us good health )

as whom =  فِيْمَنْ

You have given strength =  عَافَيْتَ

 and take me (to Your care) =  وَتَوَلَّنِى

 فِيْمَنْ  = as whom 

تَوَلَّيْتَ  =  You have taken (to Your care)

وَبَارِكْ لِىْ = and Bless me 

فِيْمَا  = in what 

اَعْطَيْتَ = You have given 

وَقِنِيْ = Protect me (from) 

شَرَّ =  evil

مَا قََضَيْتَ  =  of what You have ordained

فَاِ نَّكَ  =  So Surely You 

تَقْضِىْ  =  You (the one) who command

وَلاَ يُقْضَى  =  and are not commanded

عَلَيْكَ  =  upon You

وَاِ نَّهُ  = and Surely

 لاَ يَذِلُّ = none whom You have committed to Your care

 مَنْ وَالَيْتَ = whom shall be humiliated

وَلاَ يَعِزُّ = and none whom You have taken as an enemy

مَنْ عَادَيْتَ = whom shall taste glory

تَبَارَكْتَ = You are Blessed

رَبَّنَا = Our Lord

وَتَعَالَيْتَ = and Exalted

فَلَكَ  = So only you

 الْحَمْدُ = All the Praise and Gratitude

عَلَى = upon

مَا قَضَيْتَ  = what You have ordained 

وَاَسْتَغْفِرُكَ   = and I seek your forgiveness

 وَاَتُوْبُ  = and repent

 اِلَيْكَ  = to You

وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى سَيِّدَنَا مُحَمَّدٍ  = and blessed upon our leader Muhammad 

 النَّبِيِّ اْلاُمِّيِّ = the unlettered Nabiy (Prophet)

وَعَلَى آلِهِ = an upon the family

 وَصَحْبِهِ = and his companions

 وَسَلَّمَ  = and Peace (upon them)
