There are two words this week, both in kanji, for those who want to practice their calligraphy. The first is uma (horse).
The next word is Uma Doshi (Year of the Horse).
Here are relatively simple sketches of parts of a horse's body for practice.
I use the word kōroku-hō in some of the guidance below. Kōroku-hō means the same thing as senbyō-hō (line strokes), but in some cases, it is the preferred word to use.
