Calligraphy
Calligraphy
The characters below from the phonetic katakana syllabary form the word poinsechia (poinsettia) for those who want to practice their calligraphy.
Sketches
Sketches
The relatively simple poinsettia sketch below is for practice.
This next sketch is more detailed and was modeled from a real plant I bought on Monday.
Demonstration Painting
Demonstration Painting
My intension for this week's painting is to demonstrate the kōrokutensai-hō technique. It combines senbyō-hō (line strokes) with mokkotsu-hō (boneless or no lines) strokes. Either can be done first. I started with senbyō-hō to do the second of the two sketches above. I then used mokkotsu-hō to fill in the color.
