 Demonstration Art

From a byōbu by Itō Jakuchū (1716 – 1800). See discussion.

Calligraphy, Sketches & Demonstration Painting

Calligraphy

Here is the kanji character for zō (elephant) for those who want to practice their calligraphy.

Sketch

This is a relatively simple sketch of an elephant for practice.

Demonstration Painting

For this painting, I used mostly mōkkōtsu-hō and senbyō-hō. This is the equivalent of the kōrokutensai-hō technique, a combination of the two others.  It doesn't matter which is done first. My guidance below tells what I did, but it is your choice about how to do it.
