There are two examples this week for those who want to practice their calligraphy. The phonetic katakana word below is chūrippu (tulip).
The kanji word below, akashirokiiro, is a composite of four words; aka (red), shiro (white), ki (yellow), and iro (color). It is used in the context of the children's song about tulips blooming in unit 12.1

There are two relatively simple tulip sketches this week for practice. The first is in black and white only.

The red and yellow blossoms were painted with multiple mokkotsu-hō (no lines) strokes to distinguish between tepals. However they didn't show up very well here when I scanned the painting.
