Calligraphy, Sketches & Demonstration Painting

he kanji ideograph below, takenoko (bamboo shoot), is for those who want to practice their calligraphy.

These sketches are for practice. The first is one I made of a bamboo plant one of my students brought to class some years ago.

This next sketch is of a bamboo shoot.

Three types of edible bamboo are represented by the sketches below. The words at the top of the sketches are their Japanese names.
