From a bijin-ga published by Hishikawa Moronobu (1618 – 1694). See discussion.
There are two Japanese words this week, both written using kanji, for those who want to practice their calligraphy. The first word is bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful people).
The next word is sakurasō (Japanese primrose).
Here is a relatively simple sketch of a Japanese primrose for practice.
For the flowers, I mostly used mokkotsu-hō strokes. For the young lady, use korokutensai-hō, a combination of line strokes with color inside.
