Album: The Dream is Over

Released: 27 May 2016

Genre: Punk Rock

Pine Point is a song from the album The Dream Is Over by PUP and as much as I would recommend listening to the entire album (it’s really good!), I narrowed it down to just one of the many cool songs on the record (special mention to Sleep In The Heat and Dvp). One of the reasons I love this song is that it describes Pine Point as a REAL place. Pine Point used to be a town in Canada that is totally demolished! Now all that remains is a hand painted sign welcoming visitors to the non-existent town and a graveyard. The composer is inspired by the lost town because of how simple it is to demolish a place where people had lived, grown up and had memories in. The song tells a story of the town through the perspective of someone who once lived there and now has nowhere to go back to aside form the vacant space where the beautiful town once was.
