BOOK REVIEW

Finn taught us that we should always have our friend's back.

Valentine by Jodi McAlister has to be in my top 10 favourite novels (no joke). I absolutely fell in love with the book as soon as I laid eyes on its book cover. It ignited my passion for reading and I couldn’t stop thinking about it! The writing was just breathtaking and it builds up as I turned the pages... Well enough with the rambling and let’s get on with the review.

Four seventeen year old teenagers (that’s a lot of numbers) are all born on the same day. All four of them experience strange and chilling events. One of these events is swapping a Seelie fairy for a human at birth. How silly is that! Now something is out to kill that Seelie, however that “thing” doesn’t know who the Seelie is. So the complication begins...

I adored this book so much and reading it was absolutely amazing! I had so much trouble trying to put it down and sometimes I couldn’t do so for several hours. The novel was very captivating. It's romantic, suspenseful, mysterious and packed with action! Now who wouldn’t want that? The novel beguiled me so much and I felt as if I was in a different world every moment I was reading. Moreover, when I wasn’t holding the book, my mind itched to read because I seriously wanted to know what would happen next.

Although the story kept me out of breath most of the time, I found the ending wasn’t as satisfying as I would have liked it to be. Maybe because I wanted to read more...Maybe I didn’t want the story to end yet. Anyway, I am pretty sure that the author’s next piece will be even better!

I passionately recommend this book to anyone who loves romance, suspense or even gore. You should definitely read Valentine. I give this novel a 4.5 stars! I am so excited to start reading the second book Ironheart. Finally, if you read this book, please be advised that there are some disturbing scenes consisting of blood and gore!!

Happy readings!!!
