poet's day

Arthur Weasley taught us that curiosity is a good thing.

You’re a poet, SHOW IT!

The library monitors have been patiently waiting a long time for this, and it has finally come. It’s Poet’s Day and we’re celebrating it with haikus. To those who don’t know what haikus are, I’ll happily tell you. A haiku is a short Japanese poem with three lines; the first and last line consists of 5 syllables while the second line only has 7 syllables. Haikus are considerably short yet they hold so much beauty and sophistication. The library would love to hear some of your haikus, and get a better understanding of your style of writing. So get busy, and start writing haikus. The competition runs from the 13th of November to the 20th. A full week for you to be composing! The only catch is, these three words: shiver, linger, forever, are to be included in the haiku! And as always, there will be outstanding prizes. A $20 voucher of your choice and a set of hard bound New York Bestseller books by Maggie Stiefvater are to be given away. For irony’s sake, let’s end this with a haiku and make sure you join VERSES vs VERSES:
