FILM REVIEW

T'Challa taught us that in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe.

“Thank you, Black Panther for making adults everywhere google “Is Wakanda real?” - Jimmy Fallon

Black Panther has been in the works since the release of Iron Man 2 when it was hinted in the credits that the film will be out in February 2018. It has been released recently rand fans from around the world marvelled at this movie! (That included me of course!) Fans and some new faces in the bandwagon have raced onto the box offices to see this Marvel super film.

Black Panther is introduced in Captain America Civil War. The main character, T’Challa, is crowned the new King of Wakanda. Chadwick Boseman played the role of the King who is also seen “running around in a catsuit” throughout the film. The minor characters are mostly females with Lupita Nyong’o playing T’chaka’s ex-girlfriend, Letitia Wright playing Shuri, his 'techy' and humorous sister and we can’t forget Florence Kasumba playing Ayo aka the General who is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

The plot revolves around T’Challa’s long lost cousin (the antagonist) Killmonger returning and his desire to kick (literally) T’Challa off the throne of Wakanda and take it for himself. The costumes are carefully designed with real life African clothes and the sets are groundbreaking.

Marvel ‘raised the roof’ for Infinity War, having its famous heroes team up with of course Black Panther which makes the union mega fun. Let’s not forget that fantabulous soundtrack! It’s a mix of classical African music and modern rap. It’s catchy and very emotional at the same time! The soundtrack may not have won a Grammy but it still sure is popular!

This is honestly one of the best Marvel movies to date, I love love love this movie and if you’re interested in watching it you are in luck since it’s still showing in the cinemas! IT’S THAT POPULAR! I give this movie 4 ½ stars!! Watch out!! Thanos is coming to town! (See what I did there?)
