book review

Soman taught us that every time we do a Good Deed with true intention, our souls grow purer.

The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani is a thrill-seeking, suspenseful and romantic novel. It is about two girls who are taken to a fairytale-like school by the School Master. These two girls, one named Agatha and the other Sophie, believe that they are enrolled in the wrong schools. Agatha is enrolled into the school for good and Sophie the school for bad. However, Sophie is convinced that Agatha is evil and she is good.

Through the series the girls’ friendship is tested over a boy. This boy somehow creates conflict between Agatha and Sophie. During their journey, Agatha has many doubts about her life especially when she faces many fairytale situations. Agatha and Sophie rise up against being a damsel in distress.

For the final book of the The School for Good and Evil series, Quests for Glory is all about perspective. It isn’t as predictable as I thought, instead the book is filled with unrelenting suspense. Everything about the book makes me so elated. The novel is so clever and it really makes you wish that you are a part of their world, and when you read it, you feel like you ARE actually in their world!

This book is pretty much an experience worth remembering… I continuously devoured the pages, unable to put the book down. And when I did, I am always thinking about what might happen next and the many of possibilities the resolution presents. Over all this book is amazing, clever, unpredictable, whimsical and adventuresome. I could read this novel over and over again without getting bored! I give it 5 stars!
