Our google Shared Drive is the virtual file storage of MyAdventure Group. its a super powerful tool for collaboration, file storage, cloud backup and gives us all access to all our work related documents from any computer (with a internet connection) on the planet!
Our Shared drive is a shared spaces where our team can easily store, search, and access our files anywhere, from any device.
All staff.
Day-to-day operations

Collaboration
Ease of Access anywhere
Systems - every asset embedded in iMAG
Head Office - all files related to the day-to-day operations of the business
Experiences - everything to do with running the 3-day MAG program
Conferencing - everything to do with conference work/delivery
Here are a few super important rules we all need to adhere to to make it effective:
ALL work related documents need to be on our TEAM DRIVE.
Do not store any MAG related work documents on your desktop, local drives, personal google drive or printed copies in paper files on your desk. Everything needs to be stored in our google TEAM drive.
Please ensure you create and edit all files in native Google apps (gdoc, gsheets etc). Do not use Office suite products.
(NOTE: Unlike files in My Drive, files in a Team drive belong to the team instead of an individual. Even if members leave, the files stay exactly where they are so our team can continue to share information and get work done).
In the diagram above, you can see the structure of where files are kept in which folders.
In order to access the Shared drive, James needs to invite you to "member access". Once you have received the invite email you can chose to access the team drive:
In internet browser: Google Drive application
Local Windows explorer/ Mac Finder window.
In order to view files in the Local Windows explorer/ Mac Finder window you will first need to install: File stream (do not worry about Backup & Sync)
There are three ways to navigate our files on our shared drive once you have been granted permission:
Any internet browser: https://drive.google.com
Download Filestream and access Google Shared drive in Windows Explorer/Mac Finder
ios & Android: Download Google Drive in the app store to access Shared drive on portable devices (phones, tablets etc)
(NOTE: One of the major limitations of the shared drive is that you cannot copy FOLDERS, only individual files. Particularly frustrating when creating new client files...)
In 2020 Google released the ability to share folders with Staff. Staff should only have access to folders in which are needed to conduct their day-to-day activities.
