On Wednesday, students will receive a Canvas announcement asking them to change their FISD password if it is still their 8-digit birthday or if their friends know their password. Please talk with students about password security and that they should only share their password with parents, not friends. If students have questions or need help, please send them to see me in the Library.
Directions and information: https://fisd.instructure.com/courses/53785/pages/password-change
It's been a while since the Aug. 8th update about Keyboard Backlighting so I thought you might like a refresher! To adjust the keyboard backlighting on your teacher Chromebook, hold <Alt> and press the <light down/up> button. You're welcome!
Frisco ISD provides Turnitin in Canvas for High School campuses which includes an AI detector. Please keep in mind that AI detectors are just AI detecting AI and are not always reliable. I highly recommend checking out this article:

Did you know that in eSchool you can mark an assignment score as a Correction, Retake, or Adjustment? You can also add score Comments and view the score's history! Click on the score once so it's highlighted blue then right-click to see the options.
When students/parents log into HAC or use the eSchool Plus Family app, they can see these options if they view details of the assignment.
If you use any of those options, don't forget to turn on indicators to show assignments with comments and if they have a History (more than one score entered for the assignment score) or are marked as a Correction, Retake, or Adjustment.
Please reach out with questions!
Go to the list of All Courses. Star the ones you want on the dashboard. Unstar the ones you don't.
If you no longer want a course in Canvas:
If you're the only or primary teacher and a course was used but is no longer needed, go to Settings --> Conclude this course
If you're the only or primary teacher and a course was not used and is not needed (like one started but never used), go to Settings --> Delete this course
If you've been added to a course, see if you can remove yourself. People --> 3 dots next to your name --> Remove from course.
If you cannot remove yourself, email me a link to the course and ask to be removed.
