Lightspeed Classroom Relay

Students have been getting more creative on Lightspeed Classroom Relay workarounds. Please remind students tampering with Relay is in violations of the Responsible Use Policy and is subject to campus discipline and/or loss of device privileges. 

Their most recent method:

• • Magnets in pockets to effect sensors 

If you are aware of a way students are actively using to get around Relay or LockDown Browser (not just a video showing something that worked for someone else somewhere else at some point), please reach out with as much detail as possible.

If a student does not show up on Classroom Relay, they need to:

1. Update Chrome

2. Reboot

3. Turn off bluetooth

If they still do not show up, reach out. Also, you can tell students they'll need to work on paper or sit where you can see their screen at all times if they don't show up. This sometimes helps Chromebooks to magically show up in Classroom Relay. 

Canva within Canvas

The new Canva within Canvas feature was turned on for Frisco ISD Canvas accounts! Teachers can now:

• embed Canva presentations in Canvas pages, assignments, quizzes, discussions

• assign Canva presentations as a template for students (automatically makes a copy) through the External Tool submission type
