Guardian HAC login

If a parent contacts you saying they cannot log into HAC, feel free to share:

On June 17 or 18, guardians received an email from fisdportal@friscoisd.org with login information for the new portal. Guardians use that same new login to access HAC. Guardian IDs ("G" followed by numbers) no longer work.

If one of their students is missing required items for the start of school, their account may be locked for that reason too. The Data Clerk should be able to look those up.

Phones

To comply with a new state law, all FISD phones display the room number of their location. Due to this change, phones cannot be moved to another location without also updating the phone system. If you need a phone location moved, submit an Incident IQ ticket for Hardware --> Desk Phones BEFORE moving the phone's location.

Canvas and SpEd Sections

SpEd (S) [and sometimes (A)] sections should be cross-listed in with your on-level sections. Directions and VIDEO. Do this before assigning the first assignment. Reach out for help!

If you have (S) or (A) sections with inclusion supported by a SpEd teacher, please add them to your S1/S2 course as a Teacher (not Non-Editing) so they can modify curriculum, grade assignments, etc for their students. Please reach out for help!

Start of School Canvas Reminders

Just a friendly reminder that by Sunday night (Aug 11), everything on this doc must be complete.
Don't forget to UNPUBLISH all Modules, Assignments, Pages, etc that students do not access the first week of school.

Blueprint Users

Don't forget to LOCK EVERYTHING in the Blueprint except for the Teacher Info page. Locking items keeps you from disconnecting the sync with the Blueprint!

Canvas Updates This Summer

Just in case you missed it... Canvas made several updates this summer. One of the most impactful updates is the phasing out Google Apps/Cloud Assignments. Moving forward, only Google Assignments LTI 1.3 will be available. If you previously used Google Cloud integrations, they will need to be recreated as the newest Google Assignments LTI 1.3 integrations. Directions. Select the option to grade in SpeedGrader in most cases.
