Aiesha McFadden (AP World History) has used Perplexity AI (thanks Ms. Pryor!) to find out how the historical material is relevant today and share that with the kids - they really like knowing that.
Alex Anderson (Advanced English I) is now a fan of Google's Bard. She recently shared that "as an English teacher who works in a co-seated classroom that includes history, Bard has helped me remember terms, Chinese dynasties, and more by providing memory clues and mantras, so I had a lightbulb moment: why not share this with students? They're impressed so far. One student who was struggling to remember the Chinese dynasties is a major Kardashian fan, so I asked Bard to create a memory clue using the Kardashian sisters, which was hilarious and engaging and helped kickstart the student's thinking."
Aiesha McFadden and Alex Anderson are also trying to teach students to use AI like ChatGPT responsibly for research or memory tips with content by providing prompts they have used and modeled.
Please share how you have used AI professionally or with students: https://forms.gle/DwTNZyE1CkDdLqEfA
Reminder: Google's Bard and ChatGPT are both approved by Frisco ISD for student use. If you would like for students to use an AI program that's not on the Approved List, please read the site's Privacy Policy and, if needed, reach out to the site asking about a DPA (Data Privacy Agreement) or Exhibit E. Then submit an Eduphoria HelpDesk ticket to "Unblock/Block a Website/Online Application Approval", select "Data Privacy Application Approval". Include the instructional reason, contact info for the site, and privacy policy, DPA, and/or Exhibit E. Reach out if you have questions!
Algebra 1 (Bri Del Pozzo, Courtney Smartt, Donald Ford, and Dongsheng Zhang) collaborated with Math/Science Instructional Coach Nicole Ellis and DLC Penney Matos to create a choice board of videos, quizzes, and games to review for this week's test! Students worked on the review in any order and at their own pace. If you would like to collaborate on a coming review or assignment, please reach out!
