Centennial HS's Digital Learning Coach
Penney Matos taught elementary and middle school for 13 years before transitioning to instructional technology classroom support at Centennial HS.
All High School students are eligible for a 1 for All touchscreen Chromebook. They must complete the following steps:
Student completes the 1 for All Canvas course
Parent/guardian pays the one-time insurance fee in OnlineSchoolFees
$20 for most students
$10 for free/reduced lunch
Freshman students automatically receive the fee in OSF.
For 10th-12th graders, Rachael Lopez or Penney Matos need the student’s ID, name, and grade level so we can request the fee be added.
Once both steps are completed, the student stops by the Titan Library to pick up their device and charger.
If a student is having trouble with or is unable to complete schoolwork on their personal device, they must participate in the 1 for All program to receive an FISD touchscreen Chromebook that is guaranteed to be compatible with school work and work on our network. Steps: (1) Student completes 1 for All Canvas course, (2) Parent/guardian pays one-time insurance fee in OnlineSchoolFees.
If a student's FISD Chromebook is having trouble, they must submit a Device Repair Ticket located in the Portal then stop by the library to receive a temporary device while theirs is being fixed.
If a student comes to class without a charged, working device, please have a conversation with the student and contact the parents. If the issue continues, contact the student's AP. All students are required to have a charged, working device with a 10+ inch screen (phones are not an adequate substitute) in class for schoolwork every day.
Extra chargers are also not available.
FYI - At this time, approx. 1,700 FISD Chromebooks have been passed out to our approx. 2,035 current CHS students!
If a student was previously enrolled in Frisco ISD, withdrew, and re-enrolled, they need to go to the portal and use the Change Password tile to change their password to something new. This will fix their Google account so they are able to log into their Chromebook, access email, and create Google files. If they are unable to access the portal, I can help reset their password.
If a student's Google Storage is full, in most cases the student needs to change where their phone's photos back up to then remove the pictures from their FISD Google account. You can send this to them:
To remove the Google Photos, first change your backup location, then confirm that your photos are backed up to the new location before deleting photos from your FISD Google account. These directions should help:

Helpful Handouts from Digital Melting Pot: eSchool:
Small color print jobs - Send the PDF or shared Google file with me. Include instructions (how many, front-to-back or front only, how many slides per page, etc) and I'll print it as soon as I'm able!
Larger color print jobs - Send it to the Print Shop!
Monochrome posters - The monochrome poster maker is in the South Workroom (above the offices) near the microwaves. Directions are on the wall. Be gentle. She's old. The paper costs around $5 per poster. You don't pay the fee, just be aware so paper is not wasted.
Small color posters - Send it to the Print Shop! They can print some pretty cool stuff!
Larger color posters - The color poster maker on campus is currently out of service. Instead, send it to the Print Shop! They can print some pretty cool stuff!
All Samsung 3s have hit "end of life" and have been deprovisioned. If you (or your department) has any Samsung Chromebooks lying around, send them to B100 for recycling.
All HP5s will hit "end of life" and be deprovisioned during this school year because they maxed out updates and have become incompatible with our filtering system. If you (and your department) has any HP5s lying around, send them to B100 for recycling.
