This is a daily educational game where you try to identify a random historical event (sort of like GeoGuessr but for history).
To play you are shown four AI-generated videos that help recreate a historical event.
You then click on the map where you think the event happened, and choose a date on the timeline when you think it occurred.
You then get points based on how close you were in place and time.
The game then lists the name of the event and gives detailed descriptions for what each video is depicting.
This is a fun twist on using AI to generate videos to create a more immersive and engaging learning activity for students.
While this is "just for fun" for most of us, it could be used with students in a History class.

If you use 3-week lesson plans, it's time to:
update the "Current Week" link on your home page
move the "Current Marking Period" marker on the modules list
If you use single week lesson plans, make these changes every weekend.

As monitors are installed in classrooms, this is a great time for a reminder of how to switch between:
duplicate (duplicates monitor to the projector)
extend (your work space is extended to 2 monitors [monitor + projector])
<Windows>+ P then select the option you want.
If you turn on the monitor or projector and it's blank or says HDMI not detected, try <Windows>+P. It might be set to PC screen only or Second screen only.
Once your classroom monitor is installed, try it out. <Windows>+ P
If your students are working in groups and submitting one creation per group, Canvas group assignments are the way to go! One group member submits and the submission shows up for all group members. You can select to give the same score to all group members (enter one score and it's there for everyone in the group) or separate scores for each member.
Directions:
Note: Groups cannot be used with External Tool submissions
The directions are a little intimidating. I'm happy to help you work through it in person. Just reach out!
Snorkl is excited to announce a new update: teachers can now set objects on the whiteboard as manipulatives that students can move around their screen.
Need students to match, sort, or build? They’ll have the tools to do it—without the mess of real manipulatives mysteriously vanishing under desks.
Try a sample activity with manipulatives:
Middle School Math: Equations Sort
Social Studies: US Constitution Timeline
Science: Parts of the Cell
If a student is using a Chromebook (FISD or personal), they'll open the assessment through Canvas or AP Classroom and the Chrome extension will keep them "locked in".
If a student is using a Windows, Mac, or iPad device they must open the correct software first to access the assessment. The software will keep them "locked into" the software for the assessment. They should NOT use the Chrome extension because it only locks them into the assessment in Chrome but they can switch to different browsers or windows.

If you print from your PC (with your fancy new monitor), please know that it will probably not pop up the PaperCut login window and just sends the job to the Print Release Q. No need to print over and over again. If you see multiple jobs when you badge into the MFP, print one job and delete the duplicates.
Some may argue that this belongs in the "just for fun" section but animating a 2D image can also be included as an option for student projects. It is crazy what you can do with Canva! I found this 12-minute video tutorial worth the time!
