If you missed it, check out the Technology and Media Services WorkVivo messages this week pertaining to Data Privacy Week. Also celebrate owning your own data and check out the student data privacy tool kit!
Why should you care? ️
Identity Theft: Scammers love loose data. Keep yours secure and avoid becoming a victim!
Targeted Ads: Feeling like ads know you too well? Tightening your privacy settings can help.
Peace of Mind: Knowing your data is safe = less stress and more focus on your studies!
Here's how to be a data security champ:
Password Power: Ditch "password123" and create strong, unique passwords for each account. (Bonus points for two-factor authentication!)
Privacy Patrol: Review your social media and app settings to control who sees your info. Remember, less is often more!
Think Before You Share: Double-check before posting pics or personal details online. Once it's out there, it's out there!
Phishing Foes: Be wary of suspicious emails or texts. Don't click links or give out info unless you're sure it's legit!
Last week, students received a Canvas announcement asking them to change their FISD password if it is still their 8-digit birthday or if their friends know their password. Please talk with students about password security and that they should only share their password with parents, not friends. If students have questions or need help, please send them to see me in the Library.

US History (Hayden Blake and Laramie Schmidt) recently collaborated to change the format of a lesson. Information was taken from a multi-paged PDF and turned into several Google Slides assignments with embedded interactive pieces. The lesson is followed with a choice board activity where students select which type of product they want to create to address the summative prompt.
Please reach out if you'd like to collaborate on a coming lesson or assignment!

The issue with Eduphoria student passwords has been resolved! They were able to upload a new file recently that corrects the leading 0 issue. At this time, students will resume logging into Eduphoria testing with their ID and 8-digit birthday (not FISD password) INCLUDING the leading 0.
If a new student enrolls and has trouble logging into Eduphoria’s student testing, follow the Aware – Resetting Student Passwords directions.
As a reminder, when students are logging in to test, their login screen has a blue background and can be found through the “Aware Online Testing” tile in the student portal or through a link provided by the teacher (located in Aware). The yellow background login page is for staff.
Please reach out with questions.
