As the 365-day anniversary of your last password change approaches (different times of year for everyone), once your password has been changed, you will need to reconnect to any FISD accounts on your phone. Ex: Outlook email, Google Drive, etc. No, you are not required to add any accounts on your phone but if you do, you'll need to reconnect. If you use the iPhone Smart Lock app, you'll need to re-add your FISD Google account there too in order to use the app for quick and easy authentication.
Summer password changes - If you last changed your password over the summer, I highly recommend you changing it again sometime during the school year (now through April) so it doesn't cause issues when we're off contract!
Assignment Groups organize Canvas assignments by unit or topic.
The order that assignments appear in Assignment Groups is the order they appear in the Canvas gradebook.
In the gradebook, you can filter to view by Assignment Group, cutting down scrolling.
Just a reminder to please add AI expectations to student assignments! Students should know what is and is not allowed before starting their assignment. Refer to "Suggested Assignment Wording" from the CHS AI Protocol (2023-2024) doc. Keep in mind this has not been updated for the 2024-2025 school year yet but it includes good suggestions and best practices.
Reach out to Tammy Turner, Penney Matos, and Teddi Martin with questions!
If you missed a PD by the Pool session this summer, the recordings are now available and linked in the graphic! Happy learning!
Lucid (AKA Lucidchart or Lucidspark) is now labeled at Lucid (Whiteboard) in your Canvas course navigation.
It includes templates for mind maps, venn diagrams, floorplans, storyboards, brainstorming, and much more!
I recommend clicking on it and poking around to see what templates might be helpful for your students. If you would like to assign a Lucid creation to your students through Canvas, reach out for support!
Students can access Chromevox on their Chromebooks with the LDB by clicking <Ctrl>+<Alt>+Z. Chromevox reads everything to students. If students are able to access the Select-to-speak option from the Accessibility menu, let them use that too.
