We are still in need of a few staff members to help out with device collection on Tue, May 13 & Wed, May 14. Volunteers would have the student show them that the Chromebook is working, fill in a short Google form, and place the device and charger in a box. Currently we need support during 2A, 3A, 1B. For most periods, we only need support for the first half of the period.
👉🏽If you are able to help out, please email Penney Matos with the period(s) you are available.
To help make the last days of school go more smoothly, clean up Email this week! Move to a folder any communications about students that are required to be saved. Download to PDF other emails to save. Delete items you no longer need. Clean up your Inbox, Sent Items, Clutter, Junk Mail, and all cabinet folders then empty your Deleted Items folder. Read more.

If you are planning on working in Canvas over the summer, be aware of a few items:
A new optional "block editor" is coming this summer! See below for more info.
New CHS lesson plan page, teacher info page, home page templates, and navigation requirements will be created once the new block editor is released this summer. Templates will be available by August.
Work toward ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance in Canvas
Click on the Accessibility checker when editing to clear up issues
Remove unnecessary tables from pages, assignments, etc.
Use tables to present data, not for purposes of page layout and design
Instructurecon: 7 Simple Steps to Create Accessible Content: Tables (in Canvas)
Add Alt Text on images
If you haven't already, please share your feedback regarding how Centennial HS Canvas courses are structured. Feedback will be used to make adjustments to our campus template for next school year. When answering questions, view it primarily through the lens of EASE OF USE FOR STUDENTS and PARENTS.
Note: This summer, tables that are used for design (not for sharing information) need to be removed from all Canvas pages, assignments, etc. and alt text needs to be added to images to make them ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant. This is our chance to revamp the CHS Canvas Template.
CHS Canvas Feedback Form (bit.ly/cen10canvasfeedback25)- Submit by tomorrow/Wednesday, May 7!
Canvas's new block editor will be available this summer! We will have more information to share once it has been released.
The block editor is ADA compliant and will make "pretty formatting" easier! You will have the option to use the new block editor or the old RCE (rich content editor) on each page.
Lightspeed's Classroom Relay Teaching Team feature is being turned on! This allows primary teachers to add a co-teacher to view students simultaneously. Unfortunately, at this time, it does not work with merged classes. Read more.

Option 2: Blueprint users- Continue editing the current Blueprint over the summer or make a new Blueprint course to start fresh.
Option 3: Do nothing now and don’t edit Canvas until August.
