The Instructional Technology Department is excited to share Summer 2025’s PD by the Pool calendar! PD by the Pool sessions will be offered July 22-24.

What’s being offered?

One-hour vendor-led online sessions highlighting district digital resources including Canva, Kami, SchoolAI, weVideo and more!
No expectation to turn on your camera or microphone, simply join to grow your understanding of our district edtech resources and be inspired to take your use of these resources to the next level!

How do I snag a spot?!

Click Register below the course description to register in Strive. Register for as many courses as you wish!
The week prior to PD by the Pool you will receive an email from Alanna Mercy in your FISD email account with the link. You will receive a separate email for each course you register for.

On Tue, July 15, I'm presenting Differentiation in Canvas with Mastery Paths and Immediate Feedback with AI (similar to sessions on Oct 11 & Jan 6). Mastery Paths are NOT related to MasteryConnect (assessment tool) or to Mastery Learning (for students who fail a quarter). So many "mastery" things can be quite confusing! I highly recommend learning about Mastery Paths in Canvas, if you haven't already. They're a wonderful way use Canvas to differentiate for your students. I hope to see you there!

Differentiation in Canvas with Mastery Paths

Learn how to set up and use Mastery Paths in Canvas for differentiation! Teachers can set 2 or 3 different learning paths based on students' scores on a Canvas Quiz or Assessment. Learn all the ins and outs and what to consider when setting up a Canvas Mastery Path. Participants will practice setting up a path in their own Canvas accounts!

Immediate Feedback with AI

Instant feedback? AI’s got it. Delayed feedback? AI’s got that too. Teacher feedback? That’s where your expertise turns good into great! This session is for all content areas and most electives too! -- This is the same session offered as an option at CHS on October 11, 2024 & January 6, 2025.
