Having trouble with a site? Check out their dashboard:
Lightspeed Status [Filter, Classroom Relay]
Respondus Status [Lockdown browser, StudyMate]
Recently, our filter underwent some changes and BYOD devices may not fully function on the Frisco-ISD wireless network. If your or your students’ BYOD devices are having trouble, FORGET the Frisco-ISD network and select:
Network SSID = FISD-BYOD
Log in = FISD username (student ID or staff username) and FISD password
Authenticating (logging in) may be required daily.
FISD devices should remain connected to the Frisco-ISD or the FISD-Managed networks. Reboot if having trouble. If you continue having trouble from an FISD device, submit an Incident IQ ticket. Students & Staff = Select your FISD device --> Connectivity
When Chromebooks, chargers with names, and/or books are left in your room/space, please send them to the Library/B100 that day. Students routinely stop by asking if their device, charger, or book has been turned in. We tell them to check with the teachers in all of their classes but sometimes these end up in other rooms/spaces. Do not hold onto found Chromebooks, chargers with names, and books hoping the student will come back to get it.
Class Companion is similar to Snorkl in that it uses AI to provide immediate student feedback. In Class Companion, students type answers to questions and/or answer multiple choice questions.
Recently, AP US History (Fitzgerald, Hayden, Richards) used Class Companion for immediate feedback on an SAQ. When setting it up, teachers uploaded the needed information then used ChatGPT to get 3 sample student answers; exemplar, not meets, and a middle score. The exemplar and not meets samples received expected feedback while the middle score sample did not. Based on that, they made adjustments to the rubric in Class Companion.
After completing the lesson with students, feedback included:
Students appreciated receiving immediate feedback on their writing.
Students liked that teachers set it up to allow multiple submissions so they could improve their writing.
Class Companion graded factual content (dates, names, etc) more strictly than College Board does.
Teachers were able to check in with individual students as they worked.
Teachers appreciated being able to view student submissions, Class Companion's feedback, and Class Companion generated insights.
Their team is planning on using it again in the near future.

2025 Yearly courses
Students, Teachers, & Designers retain access to these courses through May.
This year, everyone has 2 choices for how to handle your year-long S1/S2 courses:
Original Option: Keep S1 and S2 as separate courses like in past years.
The S1 course will archive in January.
Copy S1 into S2.
Switch to using the S2 course for Q3 & Q4.
Unpublish all Assignments from S1 in the S2 course.
New Option: Cross-list S2 sections into the S1 course and make it a Yearly course.
S1 and S2 sections will both be in the same S1 course.
When assigning assignments, you will need to ignore the S1 sections during S2.
After cross-listing, send me the S1 course URL and ask to switch it to a Yearly course.
Blueprint users: See these directions.
Semester long AP courses: See these directions.
They're ready!
Go to Canvas Commons.
Search for "CHS Q".
Look for our new logo!
You'll see Q3 & Q4 grouped by 3 weeks & single weeks.
Import the 2 that you need to finish out the year into your S2 course or Blueprint or see me about turning your Q1 course into a Yearly course.

When verifying student devices (Titan Staff Update: Dec 8th - Student Device Verification) with your 2A class in December, Mrs. Lopez would like to share the following tips:
If you do not see any asset numbers listed next to any student's names, double check that in the top right corner of your Incident IQ screen it says "Ticketing" and not "Facilities".
If a student does not use an FISD Chromebook (and no asset is assigned) you can skip them in the verification process.
If a student doesn't have their FISD Chromebook with them, please ask them to bring it another day. Do not verify their asset until they bring it.
If you click on the question mark next to a student's name and nothing happens, please clear the cookies & cache "for all time" in Google settings.
When students use Chromebooks/laptops during your class, it's best practice to start a Classroom Relay ad hoc session for several reasons:
Student Browsing History - If students show up in Classroom Relay, we can guarantee that Lightspeed is recording their browsing history. Admin can pull a report of their history should an investigation be needed in the future.
Monitoring & Managing Students as They Work - You can view what students are doing in Chrome. You can also close their tabs, send them messages, and more!
Troubleshooting Classroom Relay - All students who follow these steps will show up for you in Classroom Relay (except iPads).

If you receive an email from Screencastify saying you were added to Frisco ISD Pro, please delete it. This is a marketing ploy. Frisco ISD is not paying for Screencastify. We pay for WeVideo which does what Screencastify does plus much more! Also, students are blocked from using Screencastify because they will not sign a Data Privacy Agreement.
If you would like to learn join our Frisco ISD WeVideo domain, reach out and I'll send you the code!
