Just a friendly reminder to NOT shut down PC computers at night. Updates are pushed out overnight and computers won't receive the updates if they are off. Instead, LOCK computers overnight <Windows>+L and turn off the projector.
When prompted to restart, do it that day!
With Snorkl, students record and share their reasoning then receive instant AI-powered feedback to drive deep and meaningful learning.
The Algebra 1 Team (Del Pozzo, Garcia, Smartt) is using Snorkl as part of student review for a coming assessment. Students are assigned a few questions to solve as they record themselves describing what they are doing as they solve the problem on the screen. Then Snorkl creates AI-generated specific feedback based on the teacher's expectations.
The Snorkl pre-made library is being added to regularly. Currently, it includes Math (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre Cal), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), and World Languages but you are not limited to those subjects! When setting up an activity, you tell Snorkl what to look for in student responses, no matter the subject or topic!
If you'd like to check it out, let me know! It's a timesaver that provides students instant, relevant feedback.
This video shows an elementary example but Snorkl can be used for any subject all the way through high school classes, provided students can write (on screen) and describe (voice) their thinking.
FISD Approved Applications list
If students create an account, the site MUST be on the list with a checkmark for "Approved for Student Login".
If you would like to use a site that is not listed, reach out to Penney Matos for possible alternatives.
If students use a code to join your game/assessment and do not enter an email address or sign in with Google, they can use the code to join even if the site isn't on the list.
For instructional support, including how to manage screen time breaks or include more active learning strategies, reach out to your Instructional Support Team (Nicole Ellis [starting Oct 10], Dr Teddi Martin, Penney Matos, and Dr Tammy Turner)!
Please reach out with questions!

The SIS (Student Information & Systems) Team says that printing seating charts in eSchool should be fixed. If you still have trouble, try using Edge or Firefox (both on your PC). If that still doesn't work, let me know and I'll take a look!
