    • Explore New Zealand sites e.g. Countdown, The Warehouse, Dick Smith, etc.

    • Visit online auction sites e.g. Trade Me

    • Set some rules:

      • Ask before buying.

      • Be aware of flashing advertisements / pop ups.

      • Be aware of free offers.

      • Reading the fine print-terms and conditions.

      • Understand how Trade Me / online auctions work.

      • Being the Consumer: questioning the seller before purchasing the goods and explore seller feedback.

      • Background research on retail outlet if goods are sold online.

      • Is the outlet reputable? - has the outlet been in the news recently for good / bad reasons.

      • Purchasing online vouchers-exploring expiry date as voucher may not be legal tender after expiry date.
