Today's agenda:

• • Today we studied unit 1.1, action verbs, accompanied by the verb Gustar. We worked with the concepts of:

I like to...Me gusta + action verb

you like to....Te gusta + action verb

somebody likes to...A somebody le gusta + action verb

• Students worked in pairs studying and learning the new 25 action verbs (found on the attached document). Students should know how to say;

I like to run Me gusta correr

You like to eat Te gusta comer

Jose likes to study A Jose le gusta est udiar

The kids practiced the concept of the 3rd person, Somebody likes to... by playing tic tac toe with the action verbs. Some examples are;

A Maria le gusta leer Maria likes to read

A Jose le gusta tocar el piano Jose likes to play the piano

A Susana le gusta practicar Susan likes to practice

A Juan le gusta cocinar John likes to cook

• Student's watched and listened to scenes 1, 2, and 3 from the unit 1.1 telehistoria. These scenes can be found in the Avancemos 1 textbook on pages 35, 40, and 45 We are watching the telehistorias to increase our vocabulary understanding and to be speak and understand the spoken language better. As a class, we read pages 32 and 33 a-f in Spanish and then broke it all down into English to ensure comprehension and learning. .

  • Lastly, students had to write out activity 1 on page 34 in Spanish. Students had to write the assignment just as it shows in the book. On a separate piece of paper, the students wrote out the paragraph, being careful to write just as it is in the book. There are 7 words in burgundy in activity 1, and this word bank is used to do the assignment. Students had to insert the correct word from the word bank into the correct blank 1-7 to ensure the paragraph is logical. This assignment was turned in for credit.
