Today's agenda:

    • Students continue to watch Unit 3.1 telehistorias-scene 1 and 2. These telehistorias help students to learn vocabulary in context as they listen in Spanish and have Spanish and English subtitles to help the learning process.

    • Students continue to work with interrogative words. Today we worked with Cuantos? and Que? How many? and What?

    • Students continue to work on gustar + nouns. Students were reminded that gustar only conjugates to gusta and gustan. Also, gustar must use indirect object pronouns me, te. le, les, and nos in place of the subject pronouns. Students played the dice game using the following information:

1) Yo 2) el cafe con leche

2) Tu 3) los jugos

3) Ella 4) el cereal

4) Ellos 5) las hamburguesas

5) Nosotros 6) el yogur

6) usted 7) los sandwiches de jamon

8) la sopa

9) las manzanas

10) el pan tostado

11) los refrescos

12) la leche con chocolate

So, if rolling the dice I rolled a 5 and 5, my sentence would read A nosotros nos gustan las hamburguesas. a 6 and 6 would read A usted le gusta el yogur. A 3 and 3 would read A ella le gustan los jugos.

  • Lastly the students worked on the --er and --ir verb packet. We began by practicing the verbs in pairs-Spanish to English and English to Spanish. Also today we focused on asking questions in the tu form and answering them in the yo form. We did this using a 40 question worksheet. Lastly, we learned the conjugations of the --er and --ir verbs and practiced conjugating the --er and --ir verbs using a deck of pass along cards. I have attached an --er and --ir cheat chart to help students learn to conjugate these verbs.

Students will be taking 2 quizzes on Thursday/Friday. One quiz will deal with gustar + noun, the other quiz will deal with --er and --ir verbs. For this quiz students must know the verbs English to Spanish, and be able to conjugate them correctly.

Students will be taking the unit 3.1 multiple choice test on Monday.

Students will be taking the semester multiple choice exam next week on their scheduled final day. Students should be reviewing all previously learned material for the final. Students should specifically study; estar + adjectives, gustar + infinitive (action verbs), adjectives, food and drinks, places in the school and classroom objects time, interrogative words, ar, er, and ir verb meaning and conjugation, gustar + nouns, and classroom phrases and questions.
