This week's agenda:

This week students focused on a review of 3 concepts.

a) gustar (to like) plus nouns

b) ----er, and ----ir verbs. Their meaning and their conjugations

c) question words

On Monday, 1/13/2020, students will have their first unit test of the 2nd semester. Students should know the following information:

• • gustar + nouns-students can review their battleship worksheets. Students can also review page 145-gustar with nouns grammar explanation.

  • ----er, and ----ir verbs. Students can review the meaning of abrir, comprender, vivir, leer, escribir, correr, aprender, comer, beber, vender, compartir. Students can review the conjugations of such verbs on page 150

  • question words-students need to know the meaning of-donde esta? Adonde? De donde? quien? cual? que? por que? a que hora? cuando? como? cuantos/cuantas? Pages 144 and 161 activities #3 on both pages are good practices for question words.

Students should spend time this weekend reading the following pages for understanding:

Students should read the following pages for culture section on the test:

• • 136 and 137 (read the paragraphs next to the pictures

  • 146 Comparacion cultural. What is La cocina criolla?

  • 152 Comparacion cultural. What is La Plaza Colon? Who is Manuel Hernandez Acevedo? What will you find in Old San Juan? What do you find in the middle of La Plaza de Colon?

  • 158 Los huracanes-What is Puerto Rico's greatest threat and why?
