today"s agenda:

    • Students wrote out pages 86 and 87 in both Spanish and English. Turned in for credit.

    • Students learned how to ask: What time is it? and how to answer: It is such and such a time. the question is, Que hora es? The answer is son las + the time or es la + the time. For example; Que hora es? Son las nueve y media (It is 9:30) we did a pass along so students could practice 75 different times in order to have some mastery.

    • Students learned how to ask: How many of something are there? Students learned how to respond and say There are X number of such and such. Example: Cuantos estudiantes hay en clase? Hay 35 estudiantes in clase. Students did a question and answer activity off of the board in which they alternated asking and answering how many of certain things there were:

14 chicos

23 chicas

10 amigos

35 companeros

40 escritorios

The question is:

cuantos chicos hay? hay 14 chicos

cuantas chicas hay? Hay 23 chicas

cuantos amigos hay? Hay 10 amigos

cuantos companeros hay? Hay 35 companeros

cuantos escritorios hay? Hay 40 escritorios.

    • Students did a dice activity today. Today's activity was focused on the verb tener + conjugation, with classes, time, and unit 2.1 action verbs.. Students had to create sentence based on supplied information. Forr example: Yo/tener una clase de art/7:30 a.m./tenger que to draw. the sentence would read-tengo una clase de arte a las 7:30 de la manana En la clase tengo que dibujar-absent Student should ask a class buddy who was in class to forward him/her the picture off of the dry erase board.

    • Students worked on -ar verbs. We worked a little on their conjugation and their meaning. We are going to spend a lot of time this week and next to understand verb conjugation of regular -ar verbs.
