Today's agenda:

    • Capitals and countries quiz

    • Greeting, my name is, I am from...quiz

    • Students continue to practice numbers 0-99. We worked on the 0-99 mixed pass along in which students practice the numbers 0-99 by saying the number out loud that is on the index card. These numbers appear randomly 0-99. We also practiced phone numbers in a "talk and swap" activity. Students had to ask each other their phone numbers (which are predetermined on an index card). So student A ask student B Que es tu numero. Student B, who has a card that reads 789-1234 says out loud, "mi numero es siete ocho nueve, uno dos tres cuatro, Y tu? Then student A, who has a card that reads 456-9876 responds mi numero es cuatro, cinco, seis, nueve, ocho, siete, seis. At this point the students exchange cards and go to another student and the process takes place again. We do this activity for about 7 minutes, and each student should get at least 20 contacts in during this time. (cheat chart attached)

    • Students continue to practice the alphabet ( cheat chart attached). I had the students do an activity in which they have to ask each other the question, como te llamas? What's your name. They then have to respond by saying me llamo (my name is) Mark, eh-meh, ah, eh-reh, kah, ,Y tu? The other partner then says, "me llamo McKenna. eh-meh, ceh, kah, eh, eh-neh, eh-neh, ah. The students did this for 7 minutes. A really good way to practice 3 things; como te llamas? Me llamo....and spelling of names. After the name spelling game, I had the kids listen to me spell out 10 names. Their task was to write the letters that they heard, eventually spelling hispanic names.

    • We continued working on the weather packet. Students must know:

the months: enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre
