Today's agenda:
we worked some more on the -er and -ir verbs. Students are responsible to know the meaning of the following verbs:
abrir
comprender
vivir
recibir
leer
escribir
correr
vender
aprender
compartir
comer
beber
students are also responsible for knowing the conjugation of -er verbs and -ir verbs. This can be found on page 159. Students will take a fill in the blank quiz this Thursday.
Today we worked some more on the Tomas Garcia Family story. Students are responsible for knowing the vocabulary, the story, and how all the family vocabulary ties together. I do not have this file in my computer any longer so students will need to come to me for hard copy.
Today we worked on asking and answering this question-Cuando es tu cumpleanos? When is your birthday? We practiced the months of the year, and then the students did a walk around activity asking Cuando es tu cumpleanos? To which the students responded saying Mi cumpleanos es el 23 de marzo. Birthdates in Spanish are reversed. What I mean by that is in English my birthday is March 23 or 3/23. In Spanish, my birthday is 23 of March or 23/3-This is obviously a cultural difference between USA and Hispanic countries.
Lastly we talked about comparitives (page 174 and 175). Comparitives allow us to state whether something is more than, less than, or the same as something else. Students were given a worksheet to complete and turn in for graded credit.
