Today's agenda:

    • We watched, reviewed, analyzed and discussed the telehistorias 6.1 scenes 1, 2, and 3 on pages 305, 310, and 315. Students then took a quiz on the 6.1 telehistorias material.

    • We reviewed the verb jugar (page 307). Students did 6.1-activity 5 worksheet for class credit.

    • We discussed the verbs saber and conocer. Both verbs mean to know, but as page 312 points out, saber is used to talk about knowing factual information and to say that you know how to do something. Conocer is used when you want to say that you are familiar with a person or place, or when you are meeting someone for the first time. For follow up practice, students used a saber "dice" activity worksheet to practice conjuagating the verb saber and understanding the meaning of saber accompanied by 6.1 vocabulary. I am attaching the dice activity that the students used for practice. Students would do well to practice this worksheet at home with their dice. You should be focused on the correct conjugation of the verb and the meaning of the vocabulary in each sentence.

    • Lastly, we discussed the verb conocer and practiced the Conoces tu...? Yo conozco exchange. For example; conoces a la directora de Buchanan? Si, yo conozco a la directora. Conoces tu a un atleta profesional? No, yo no conozco a un atleta profesional. Conoces tu al parque nacional de Yellowstone? Si, yo conozco al parque de Yellowstone. Students were given an opportunity to practice the conoces tu? yo conozco exchange working from the introductory conocer worksheet. This worksheet is attached for practice at home.
