Today's agenda:

    • We continued working on the adjectives and the verb SER. Students practiced Spanish to English and English to Spanish with the vocabulary on page 75.

    • We continued working on creating complete sentences with pronoun + Ser + adjective. Students did a unit 1.2 pass along. A couple of examples;

Juan y Luis/ser/alto Juan y Luis son altos

Maria/ser/rubio Maria es tonta

Nosotros/ser/perezoso Nosotros somos perezosos

    • Students can stop in on Wednesday during lunchtime to work on this concept to catch up.

    • We played tic tac toe, again working with Ser + adjectives.

    • We read a short "mini-paragraph" about Trotter's mom. It read-Mi mama se llama Jackie. Ella es baja, gorda, y pelirroja. Ella no es fuerte ni seria. Le gusta leer. No le gusta pasear. Students were then challenged to write about their mom following the same format

Mi mama se llama.......

Ella es + 3 adjectives...

Ella no es + 2 adjectives...

Le gusta + action verb...

No le gusta + action verb...

After writing their own mini paragraph about their moms, students shared their information with each other for about 8 minutes.

    • We watched and listened to unit 1.2 telehistoria, scene 2, from the book (page 64). As always, we listened to it 3 times. without subtitles, with Spanish subtitles, and with English subtitles. The purpose of watching the telehistorias is for students to hear authentic Spanish speakers. Students who weren't in class would do well to read the telehistorias straight from the book.

    • Lastly, students worked on their adjective scramble from the SER + adjectives packet. This activity is simply to fortify students knowledge of the adjectives. Worksheet is attached to the website.
